Who else is gonna be looking for auroras tonight??

I read that the farther south you are the less chances you have of seeing it, and if your in a big city it will be hard to see because of the lights.
I'm in MN and am not near any cities so I should be able to get a good view of this. I'll definitely take pictures if I can.

Would be fucking epic

Cool... wish it was late at night cause I have been doing a lot of stargazing anyway. Hell maybe I will set my alarm and see if anythings kicken at 3 am.

that would be pretty epic but would suck.
i dont think ill be able to see it, i live in houston. but the worst thatll happen is major black outs for a long time. which isnt good for people with medical problems that need the power.

Yeah that would be pretty bad, but they really dont know if that will happen or not. Its possible but scientists have no clue how powerful of a storm it will be.

haha yeah solar tsunami/solar storm Is what there calling it. Basically there was a huge sola flare and it was directed toward earth and there is a bunch of plasma being shot towards us. As far as I know it isnt deadly but it could fuck up a lot of electronics and give us an epic light show

I live far enough north that you can see it. It is a pretty cool sight to see especially when it gets the wave effect going.

I live in central FL so most likely it's a no show for me.  Would really love to see the auroras one day though, inebriated or not.

you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.  :twobooks:

I will see it on the news in the morning.  I can't be arsed to stay up and maybe see something.  you should have a good seat in MN though.  I'm too far south unless they are really overpowering.  But ive never been able to see the regular ones from here.

i've got a d60.  It's pretty easy.  Does the d3000 have video?  I was wanting to sell mine and get a d90 but too much $$$.  i suggest you fuck with it now, or wehn it gets dark so you know how to use it.  You might want to look up how to take night pictures with it.  Mine has a night time option on the dial that i can use.
