I'm going to start a new business, I'm gonna call it "FUCK YOU". Whenever anyone expects us to do anything, I'll have a team of customer service reps scream "GO FUCK YOURSELF" into the phone. I figure by the end of the first quarter I'll easily have enough cash assets to buy most of the worlds banks, cell companies a...nd internet providers. Anybody wanna invest in my new IPO? I'll give you stock.....

Well it sounds like you'll have some heavy competition. I just called comcast because my internet was down and that was basically the exact same service they gave me

several of my gaming friends have said that comcast is the worst company to deal with, they promise more then they give you and like you said if you call them thats basically the response you get or just good old fashioned lip service. we are sorry about that, we are working on the problem and there is nothing that can be done right now for you

All ISPs, ime, are misleading with what they offer. I don't think my connection has ever been as good as they claim.

Yep, and they love to just turn my service off for a couple hours and when I call them they magically can turn it back on, but never have a good reason for why it got shut off. They've literally told me I'm behind on payments, then I ask them to read my account balance and they go "uhhh....... $0" and then they turn it back on. Fucking assholes

let me guess you are in the same boat like my friends are, no other high bandwidth provider in the area either right? if so then they got you over the barrel too

What I don't get, If I get the 5MB connection, I get about half of that. But if I get the 10MB, then I can pull 5MB.
WTF  Just let me get what I pay for.

Australia is fucking awesome in terms of internet suppliers. I was with iinet for a while and they were fantastic, 24/7 call center with people from the same city as me who actually wanted to fix the problem even if it took an hour.
I'm with Optus now and they are even better, pretty much no problems at all in terms of random shutoffs and I have a 50GB download limit each month with ADSL1+ broadband and all for like $50 a month including the wireless modem.
