I dont mind Dos Equis. It isnt my favorite but I like to switch it up every now and then. I normally drink Budweiser or Heineken

My parents loved Milwaukee best and a lot of people do not like it, everyone has what they prefer, and for the money part I have seen very well off people drink some poor stuff so that really should not matter

Seems like on a grow your own weed forum there would be more brew your own beer drinkers. I prefer my own homemade beer over any mass produced. When you make your own, with a little learning, you can make it taste exactly like what you want it to. If that's not good enough reason alone then consider the fact that you can make your custom beer cheaper than you can buy supermarket crap.
The only significant drawback is the amount of work involved. Mostly cleaning plus the process of brewing, bottling, capping etc... The next hard part is keeping your buddies from drinking it faster than you can make it without chipping in on the labor at least if not also part of the cost of ingredients.
If done right the rewards are worth it and no beer is more satisfying than a good one that you made yourself.
Start by buying or stealing this book:
Then for your first brew buy a kit and brew it just to get a feel for the process.
After that you should start learning how to recognize the right recipes for you, buying bulk and brewing from scratch.
I found it easy to learn and a very rewarding hobby with a lot of room for experimentation and development.
Also if you happen to have a still like I did when I started then nothing ever gets wasted since you can always distill the goodies out of a fuck up. 
On a side note: Even dried malt extract for beer making brewed and fermented without adding hops tastes better than many high priced single malt scotches that I've had.

I have a good friend who brews his own and tripity has it right on how to go about it. my friend bought kit first to get feel for it first now he built a little bigger set up. And he makes great point we grow our own so we know what we get and to save money as well, so brewing your own makes sense as well, and we all have different taste in what we like so you can make it to your own taste.

My uncle has been doing it since I was a little one, so about 15 years. He has his own vineyard and everything
