Mushrooms Kind Of Urgent
    #405353 -

I need to ID these mushrooms, it is kind of urgent but not life or death.

I know shroomery would be better for this, but I can't make an account their right now and I would really appreciate some help.

The stem is hollow and I found them right by a tree near a creek in Michigan, Lower Peninsula!

More pics and info can be added if needed...

Don't look like any active species that I know of.

But where did they come from?

Near a creek. In woods.... but not dense woods.
No grass. Just mud.

from my experience, you can pick alot of wild mushrooms before you find that one active. Educate yourself well with fungus before you go and eat anything. Some can kill, some can make you sicker then shit, some are good to eat and others are pure magic!

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!

i wouldn't even ask a question like that here.  mushroom hunting is a pretty popular pasttime and there are a lot of forums to get id's on.  Hopefully you're in the process of getting reg'd at shroomery.  I mean, no offense to anyone, but I wouldn't trust ANYONE here on an ID.  I just don't know how much people here know about identification.  you can send a PM to alan rockefeller here if you can't get the shroomery.  he will be able to tell you what it is, but you might not get a response for a bit. good luck, just dont eat any of them.

Those are not what you are looking for

DO NOT EAT ANYTHING that you can't 100% identify. Eating wild mushrooms with no experience hunting them is risky and dangerous.

Yup, they look like ink caps to me as well. Some sorta Coprinellus species.

I've be seeing them pop up all over town lately, and it's common for them to be around the base of a tree. Here's some that i have found before, to me they look very similar.

As you can see, the gills end up liquefying.

And no, this mushroom is not active...
