My baby w/ pictures.
    #39331 - 05/25/08 07:08 PM (15 years, 10 months ago)

So a few weeks ago, i germinated some seeds, and planted them. That was two, and one died. one grew, and this is my first plant ever to grow.

Its in a corn field behind my house, and im wondering if i should transplant to avoid detection when it gets bigger?

also, here are the pictures as to the growth. I'm very excited, it seems to be growing well, but i'd love some more professional opinions.

what do you think?

also, an unknown strain to me. Haha. I just got a large bag of seeds from a friend, and he said it was a collection of Schwag, Corn, Chronic, or some exotic. im convinced its not exotic though. can anyone tell what strain right now?

It looks really nice. No way to tell which strain it is. It should be possible to tell if its more indica or more sativa later on by how it grows and the shape of the leaves.

About transplanting it, it would be a good idea to do so if you have a better place to go with it, in my opinion, although not really because of detection. Its a corn field, so it means pesticides, chemical fertilizers that might kill the plant, the fact that it might get harvested with the corn before you get a chance to/before its finished flowering.

Don't get too set on the outcome though because it might very well become a male. Still fun to grow something though!

Thanks. Uh, my friend says they never harvest the corn, but its for a tax rideoff.

But exactly what does it mean for me if it's a male? More seeds?

You can't smoke the male. The male produces pollen in order to pollinate the female that will produce seeds. Of course, when this happens, the bud production stops and the female plant focuses on the seed production. That's why many growers prefer to kill all the males as soon as they detect them.

corn field grow-op
sound like a daunting task
( and if the corn grower ever finds out , you could blackmail him with the whole tax evasion corn field writeoff thing. )

Well I'd convert an acre in the middle of the field to pot then. :smirk:

At any rate, you shouldn't need to transplant as long as they aren't spraying it with all kinds of crazy chemicals. If they find it, there is no way for it to reflect back to you unless you're uncareful about the way you go about it, otherwise it might just be considered to be growing there naturally.

What is your source on this? As long as you know how to transplant and the soil isn't that different then shock shouldn't be much of a problem. If the soils are not similar then it might be necessary to bring some of the old soil with and mix it in some manner, but putting cigarette butts in the new soil doesn't make sense to me.
