not just do those have carbon/charcoal filters but some, mine at least, has a built in ionizer. this helps out probably twice as much. ionizers release negatively charged ions (anions) which bind to anything in the air and neutralizes the smell, the whole time sucking air in through the filters and blowing it out (along with the anions)
i think its better to use both. clean the air, and use the ona gel for some smellgoood.

Yeah my air purifier has an ionizer on it as well. I picked it up at walmart for about $25 a few years ago. It works great. My room was smelling so damn skunky but I turned on the air purifier and within the hour I couldn't even smell anything when hovering right over the plants.

My room is doing great today. I'll have people here tomorrow, but its like 85 degrees out for the first time all year, so I have all my windows open.
I know its just gonna get worse, so I'll pick something to do in the mean time :P
