Ya, use bag seed till you have it right. Remember that the mids you smoked for the seeds could really be some hidden cannabis cup winners.

You live in SoCal and you are looking for seeds???
There should be no need for you to start with seed.
Go on Craigs's List, get you some clones and save some time not having to start from seed.
As far as good strains any thing heavy indica.
They are tough plants that grow well in our hemisphere and can take an over-feeding or 2.
Don't start with bag seed if can be avoided.
Too many unstable, mixed genetics.

Go with clones if you can get them as it will save you time, trouble, and money. If you for some reason (which I can't see why) get a hold of some clones go to nirvana and pick up some of their gear. It's super cheap, good quality genetics that won't kill your bank account if you fuck up.
