This is my first harvest and I only have two plants, its a completly natural outdoor grow, and I have pretty much been going on the advice of friends who know alot more than me.
I have topped one of my plants so it has two main collars, and they have both started to flower but the topped plant is starting to get a purple/black discolouration in the buds. I am also dealing with alot of yellowing leaves from the topped plant as you can see. I know that yellowing fan-leaves is normal throughout flowering, but now its starting to spread down the beanches.
Its gotten to the point where alot of the leaves have started to die off all along the branches, and I can pretty much blow them off, I have stopped giving both of my plants nutes and I'm currently flushing them out with water, but that has made both plants sort of stop growth, especially the taller of the two which lookes quite under developed to me, but I could be wrong.
How long ago did you start the flushing on your plants?? You usually only do that if you think that they are finishing up. They tend not to put on a ton more during those last two weeks that your flushing, but it will give you a much better smoke.
As far as the yellowing is concerned it's probably just getting low on nutrients, so the plant is sucking stored sugars and nutrients from the fan leaves, and that is causing the discoloration. Very normal when you stop giving nutrients and start flushing.
And as was stated before, has it been cold?? That's more than likely the cause of the color change your seeing.
