Well I'm really happy about these ladies. The buds didn't start forming until about 5 days ago, so all of these trichs have appeared since then.
Impressive Magash, I have to say... I've never seen that much development this early.

What did you do differently/What did Magash suggest you do? Or is it just the strain?

dude that looks absolutely awful. I suggest you scrap the whole project and mail the live plants to me immediately

Well firstly, I planned WELL ahead on this run, which made everything run smoothly. Second, they are from the man himself, so obviously it has to do with genetics. I've grown a few good strains in my day but this cross thus far has blown them all away, all 4 different phenos are looking equal in coverage though, so I'm gonna be a happy camper.

I'm going to be using pollen, should I use it now, so that the seeds are ensured to fully mature???

Oh no I'm not doing that. I'm going to turn off all ventilation for the day and Select Sex with only a couple branches of 2-3 of my chosen females.
I'm looking to get about 25-30 seeds, so it won't take much. I'm going to be paranoid about this though because it would be so easy to spread... NO BREATHING!!!

that's for damn sure! We've gotta ride together sometime, the resorts around here just got 18-24 inches from this last storm. I'm so freakin' pissed I've gotta do so much hw or I'd be there right now. Plus, Genetics are my fetish, I can't enough!

Sorry I picked the best male of the bunch, same cross, but this male seemed to look like a near pure Bubba pheno, and was the most vigorous grower, so I thought I would just make f2's...

Inverted: Yes, the pollen only needs to come into contact with the hair (pistil). The genetic information travels down the pistil to the seedpod and the embryonic seed which starts the seed formation.
I also suggest that you do it now.

it's pretty crazy how that tiny little pollen can grow into a tube cell the length of the entire pistil just to deposit that little haploid huh?

That is pretty intense.
Look at this picture
You can even see the little hair or cilia looking things run all the way up the pistils. I wish I had a better camera.

Yeah you should. I'm hoping for some good outdoor this year. Last year was such a  . Waaaay too much rain and I got completely overgrown in the swamps, which is what I was hedging on. The fields did pretty well but nothing like they should have been.
This year I'm going with the 5gal. buckets. Wish me luck. I found a place with spring water from a small artesian well. The water is so cold and clean.

That sounds great. I've had success in the swamp before, but have since moved to the farm fields. August becomes a bitch, watering every 4-5 days... I'm not looking forward to that, lugging water in 100 degree weather.

Pollen can be stored in the freezer for as long as 18 months according to Greg Green and also cites it is best used within 6 months of collection. I dont know about the open air though. how is it stored and when was it collected?

You notice the pollen tube actually working it's way down the the female reproductive organ to the egg.
The dawn of angiosperms, mother natures most evolved plant.
