Is it worth spending the extra money even though you already know you can successfully grow well in a hydroponic box? Does the C02 make that much of a difference to be worthy?

Like into the water? I don't recommend that as roots need oxygen. However, CO2 enrichment of the grow room can make quite a difference in plant growth and size - especially if your working in a small or poorly ventilated grow space.

So you would put it into water that's just sitting inside of your grow tent. Not the water that your roots are in.
And it wouldn't hurt if that's the question your asking.

It could hurt, you can actually bug bomb your house by filling it with co2. This takes something like 10 times the levels (at the very minimal) they recommend for horticulture (15 000 +++ for killing stuff, 1500 for plants)
If you put the pellets into your root zone it would be detrimental as your roots thrive off of available oxygen. Your foliage will benefit from available co2 to carry out photosynthesis.

That's why I told him not to put it in with the roots.
