ahh yes, very good point.
What about anchoring the plant in the medium? 4" rockwool and hydroton, or just hydroton?

Yes I did some time ago didn't find much difference in the yield but just found ebb and flow easier and it's much more forgiving for fuckups that may be caused by you or not.
Now we all know the fuckups we can do but what about the ones you don't do you have to cover that too. Like the power going off for a extended time. With the sprayers your kind of stuck there with the hose every few minutes where most flood and drains can go a whole day if needed. A burned out pump-once again with a ebb and flow you have the day go find it but with sprayers it's way less time.

Oh yeah some pics of a old flood and drain table I did years ago. Just a wooden box with 6mil plastic liner folded in.

and how deep did you make that? also, would you recommend just rockwool sitting in the medium or should I use some hydroton too? or maybe just putting 5 plants in a bed of just hydroton? sounds kinda neat to me...

To be honest I'm not to into into the rockwool alone for flood and drain I'm more into using some kind of rock medium.
The table was a foot tall. Use to put 1 gallon pots in it and I like them to flood all the way to the top.

I am looking for the post but someone made the whole closet into a flood table, filled it with hydroton, and grew massive and beautiful plants, I also built a table and I sealed it with an epoxy resin spray.
