What is the current Ph? Is it within range?

So what is your PPM now that you have switched out the h20?  Also, like Night asked, what's the pH now that you've switched out as well?

As far as what's recommended on how much in the way of nutes, I play it by ear.  When I was doing DWC I started the PPM at about 120, and read the plants to see if they need more.  Your using CFL's so your shouldn't have a need to increase the PPM dramatically in short periods of time.

I think your problem is lying in your pH problems.  7-8 in hydro is catastrophic for plants.  Get that under control and then we can start looking at the other parameters of your grow.  Temperature is not going to affect your pH, but it will affect how the root system of your plant thrives.  Although without you actually getting a temperature reading of it I can't tell you if it's too cold.  Remember a little cold to the touch for us is usually what the marijuana likes.  Your water temps should be around 60-75 degrees.  75 should be the max.

p.h is still 7.9 without nutes, im going to add them now dont know if it will help, ppm is 280, out of a filtered tap. I dont understand why the ph will not go down, its a 17 gallon reservoir and i have added enough to treat 30 gallons. Before i switched i added even more than that and it barely moves. im almost out of decrease and havent even touched the increase.

What product are you using to bring your pH down?

do you think its a good idea to add nutes now? because if it is a deficiency then i dont want to hurt it more by leaving straight water, but if its burn than i dont want to continue to burn it.

It will end up doing poorly though, even if it's starting off well if the pH stays in that range.

Your pH problem I feel is lying in one of two areas, or maybe both.  First, your pH down.  I have not used this product myself.  It looks like the only thing it contains to lower the pH is sodium bisulfate, not a very powerful pH down in my opinion.  If you can get a hold of pH down by GH it works wonders.  They use food grade phosphoric acid.  This may be more stable as well, but that's just a guess on my part.

I would think so, the PPM that are being read by your meter aren't the nutrients that your wanting.  I would check what the starting PPM is and then increase it by 100 with your nutrients.

Got some acid buffer today p.h. is much better 7.2 still not the best but it says to leave it for a day so it will most likely continue to lower. As for nutrients yesterday i tried starting out 1ml per gallon of flora micro and flora gro, plants look worse so im leaning more toward nitrogen or magnesium deficiency (hopefully), i went with the little horticulturist inside (gut feeling) and added 10ml of micro (higher in nit.) and 5 ml of gro. Hopefully i check on em tomorrow and things are looking better, as for my seedling, it almost doubled in size went from 2 inches in diameter to 4, very healthy and resilient to the p.h. changes and different quantities of nutes.

Dude, you NEED to desperately get your pH in check.  7.2 for hydro is going to end up killing your plants.  You HAVE to get it down to the 5.8 range.  I can't stress it enough.

if i do successfully lower to 5.8 or 6 tonight will that dramatic of a change hurt, or will it hurt more to continue with these bullshit levels.

Nope, it will hurt more to keep it at these levels.  I'm not kidding when I say that it will kill your plant.  At that high of alkalinity you lock out nutrients.

Are you getting down to the appropriate levels and then it's bouncing back up??  Or are you even getting it down that low?

Good news, this stuff worked wonders, im sitting at 5.85, i had to add alot but oh well. hopefully it doesn't continue to go down but it seems to be staying pretty constant. I feel horrible for letting the girls be in these conditions for so long. Now some lady bugs for these mites and we should be on our way.

Are you mixing your res up thoroughly after you add your pH down??  Also is this a recirculating reservoir?
