 problems uploading photos

it keeps getting stuck... i don't know if it's my poor wifi connection which fluctuates a lot or this piece of hit computer that's very low on memory or what...
but uploading a 1.7mb file keeps getting stuck, with the smaller ones i don't seem to have problems, but once i'm past a certain size i cant seem to finish the download, firefox will tell me problem loading page although the actual upload window still goes on but doesn't progress at all, simply seems to be reloading all the time.
it's really pissing me off.. is there anything i can do?

How long has this been going on? If it's a recent thing, it's probably temporary.
I just tested this 2.25mb (original size) image upload and it worked fine on my end...
