Get better soil(not Miracle Grow) and larger cups(18oz).

I have a grow journal, take a look.

2 to 3 ft tall plants in a 18 oz cup and was not root bound when transplanted.

did u poke holes in the bottom?  is the water pooling because it has nowhere else to go?  make sure it can drain out.

"Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." - Abraham Lincoln

Yeah, not enough room. A good tip for soil that doesn't want to get wet is to add a touch of dish washing soap. Works great and causes no harm.
