Do you think this swine flu is a wake up call showing us just how easy it is to anihilate humans

We are lucky the swine flu is so weak and barely kills people. What if it wasn't though, I bet we would be extinct already.

i know its more of a scare and the media goes insane with it.  But i imagine that it would be easy to wipe out the population of humans.

kind of a scary thought but completely possible.

Even in the most severe pandemic situations (think black plague) a viris isnt going to kill everyone to the point of "extinction". i think a global pandemic that would kill anywhere between 25_50% of earths human population would actually end up being a positive for those who survived. imagine how much that would help global climate change, and other issues that are compounded because of how many people are living today. not sayin i want it to happen, i just think it would be really interesting to watch the rebirth. ive heard certain historians attribute the black plague with sparkin the renaissance in its wake.. anyone have any stimulating theories??

People are making a bigger deal about it than it really is.  Nobody should be worried.

And no it's not a damn wake up call.  We know that disease can kick our ass read a history book sometime.

far far more likely.

its better to take the time to understand a threat so that you can independantly assess if its valid, or based on valid information.

if it was really that bad dont you think more than a handful of people would be dead so far?
