How do you store your weed?

Hey guys, I want to start saving different strains to have for later, what's the best way to do this? I've heard a lot of ideas, but I'd like to hear from you guys.

Pill bottles also work pretty well, you just gotta make sure they seal.

same here about a month ago when i was on top of my game i was geting a pound and 9 10 of coke every week but my weed man got busted an i lost my good deals but a pound i would get might be sold in 2 days an on the other side it might take 1 month but it would stay in large jars at the bottom of my freezer cant wait till his ass gets out of jail where them deals will come back

hell yeah mel, thats what i am doing this year im using a food saver they  should work really good and i am gonna try to have a grow log startin in spring im either gunna have some plants

Depends on wut u call a good amount rly.
Me 1 to 2 lbs would last me a year even getting my friends high.
I can get that outdoors with no more than 3 plants.
If ur looking to make bank then go big.
Spread it out over a large area tho; dont plant more than two in one given anchor.
And be careful around my part of the world they are cracking down hard on outdoor growers, as well as the indoor large growers with big mouths.
So remember when the grow begins u tell no one nothing til its done unless it is legel in ur area.
That is the best advice I can offer rly.

true true......its gunna be where the only thing u can get to my place is my ATV's and its in the middle of no mans land but i think 1 may be to many so i might jus do none plants i want an good area that the tree's open up where they get direct sun light like last year i could tell it was a good help in the growth but on the other hand i want some pine tree's to kinda cover up the marijuana patch idk what i going to do yet but from what u all have said im not going that big i dont guess i jus want to have enough lol

That's the route I was thinking was best. I don't know about this stuff. I've never had so much great bud that I can honestly say I'm going to keep any and there's no point in saving crappy weed.

I told a guy the other day that from what I could gather, 8 ounces per plant outdoor should be easy to get and he told me I was nuts. What kind of climate do you live in?

Have not read the thread but assuming storing and doing so bone dry for long term has been covered well, I'd like to mention a short bit about resurrecting it ready for resale later. Where such is legal of course.

Swim likes to use a pot of boiling water with steam flowing from it. A strainer basket on top with the weed in it will wake it up without changing the smell or taste much at all. Don't leave it long enough to get wet though.
Simple enough.

Shove the apple in the bag shit etc... up your ass imo.

I got a small personal sugar jar. it has a rubble ceal, fits about an 8th perfectly. I love this thing, i let it get all keefy and then after about a month ill scrap it out and have a nice bowl of keef. I highly suggest these kinds. when i was buying zipz, i just threw them in ker jars, and if it was dry as fuck (never really just like twice) i threw in some orange peel. My friend has a hydro stick that has some goop in the middle that keeps the buds nice (he got it for like 5 bucks well worth it)

never again am i using baggies unless im just taking a sneak a toke break during school or something.

Steam is hot, I'm not sure I'd want to expose my pot to steam for fear of volatizing some active vapors.

As for long term storage, properly cured bud into an air tight mason/canning jar, wrapped in newspaper and thrown in the freezer.

Im in the south and have seen 1 plant have from 8 oz to upwards of 2lbs per plant.
I have family to the north who average about 1lb per plant.
It all depends on care and type of plant in the end.
Also ur balls because the bigger u grow the more risk of helicopters seeing it.

i got a jar a lil bigger than this:

it fits about 3-4 oz, and the cork keeps the weed very fresh!

i also have a smaller glass one that fits a lil over 1 oz, similar to this


i also have many quart mason jars from various hobbies :wink:

finally, a small corked spice jar for dubs and shit like this:

I did say boiling didn't I. My bad. Yes. High temps are bad. Use a tall stock pot with the strainer basket. You don't need to boil the water. Just get some steam coming up from a low level of water in the bottom. Shouldn't really be hot by the time it reaches the basket and doesn't take long at all to provide the needed wake up to bone dry weed. It takes the treatment pretty readily.

Usually you want to complete this quickly so boiling the water can be OK. Just turn the heat off and make sure the steam isn't too hot before placing the basket of weed on.
