DID THIS GET INVENTED YET?
    #185874 - 01/20/09 11:32 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

SORRY MY CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON AND i HAVEN'T GOT AROUND TO GETTING A SCREWDRIVER AND GOING THROUGH THE HASSLE OF TAKING IT APART AND FIXING IT. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE SOUNDS REALLY GOOD RITE NOW...

ON TO THE SUBJECT OF THE POST. I WAS LOOKING AROUND AT SHIT ON NEWEGG AND FOUND THIS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815290008

Quote:

Connect Your PC to TV Wirelessly!

The IOGEAR Wireless USB to VGA Adapter instantly allows you to connect your PC to a high resolution display wirelessly using Wireless USB technology. Simply install the driver software to your PC, connect the VGA adapter to your TV, projector, or any VGA monitor, then pair the display with your Wireless USB enabled PC (your PC must be enabled with the IOGEAR Wireless USB Adapter, model #GUWA200- sold separately, or have Wireless USB built-in). Now you are ready to extend your desktop to another screen wirelessly.

Benefits:

    * Wirelessly display your PC content onto a remote monitor
    * Cut down complicated installation processes
    * Easily utilize a secondary monitor, flat-panel TV or LCD projector
    * Enjoy watching online videos or browse the Internet on your favorite flat-screen TV without cable limitations

IF THAT IS POSSIBLE WHY DON'T THEY HAVE SMALL BATTERY OPERATED SCREENS (10" 17") THAT I CAN CARRY AROUND MY HOUSE. OF COURSE I WOULD WANT TO AVOID USB FOR REASONS A REVIEWER POINTED OUT:

Quote:

The adapter sucked my computers dry of resources and the resulting choppy mouse control/video playback made the viewing tortured and worthless.

I think wireless USB is just too weak for this application.

Fixed my keyboard*

So I'm thinking the product I envision would aether come as a single unit with a plug in charger like a cell phone or you would get a PCI card along with the monitor and the charger that would look like a hybrid between a PCI wifi card and a video card.

I want a device like this mostly for watching video in odd parts of the house... Mostly the bathroom. It would be really handy if it also had a touch screen or a track ball or both.

The product I envision would cost under $120.00 retail.

Does something like this already exist or is it time to start filling out the patent?

They have some others too but I don't remember the names.

$279, The device im envisioning would cost way less to manufacture.

my idea is a lot more simple than a net book. I'm a huge tech junkie. I even predicted "netbooks" basically in early 2001 because of the trends that year at CES and because I think im psychic. Anyway, less parts make it a lot cheaper. Netbooks have keyboards, CPU's, RAM, Storage etc etc etc. The device im envisioning is a basically an LCD monitor that's getting it's video signal wirelessly. If let's say a company like dell manufactured the device I envision, at the price they pay for parts it would cost them around $80.00 - $100.00 to manufacture and they could easily sell them for $150.00 - $199.00

I don't have time at the moment but later I will draw up a little sketch to better demonstrate my idea and scan it into the puter and upload it to the internets so yall can take a lookseeeeeeee

In the mean time, I double dog dare you guys to jack it to this gremlin :boobs: and as you're jizzin' say "oh fuck yeaz im im on top of the world santa"

No way you could make something like that for 120...Well you could but it wouldn't be something that you could manufacture for that.

It would have to be a DIY project...I could rig one up with parts already built but it would still run more than 120...Unless you have a parts list for me.

Hackaday.com

Check out sites like that they may already have built one.

I don't know, Big companies like dell have things manufactured in massive quantities, thats how they can sell stuff at such low prices and still make huge profits. If they were to sell the device I envision I guarantee they could literally manufacture the device I envision for under $100.00 :yesnod:

These netbooks are pretty complicated devices and some are going for as little as $120.00 and what im talking about is much much simpler.
