for some reason my browser will load pages for growery and thats it. i can refresh, post new threads, etc etc
but i cant access ANY other website but this and my email

have you tried closing out your browser completely and reopening it? if so try restarting your computer

this is a possibility, but not very likely. sounds like a DNS issue, but i would need more details to help troubleshoot the problem at all.

IMO
its just easier to format if you already have shit backed up. it takes like a couple hours and ur computer is fixed. no searching, no reading, no dumb tricks to get windows working again... lol
kill the whole hdd man, start over.
that is if you have shit backed up/dont care.

after using xp and vista i could not figure out how vista was better.
xp + google desktop = vista - suckiness
but yeah make sure about that ram, and as i havent been in the tech loop for a while probably check to see if ur laptop even runs xp. i dunno if the new vista ones can go backwards, but i really dont see why not.

yea vista sucks but you might as well get used to it if your a windows user. its not going away and XP is being phased out. Vista is almost the exact same as XP anyway after you disable all the GUI crap and nonsense.
the problem doesn't require a format, that is pretty drastic IMO.
