just saw the movie "bigger, stronger, faster".
plot is about steroids.
they showed a statistic named "emergency room visits" published by the centers for disease control (mortality statistics).
at this list, Alcohol was number 1, followed by cocaine, followed by marijuana.
heroin was number 4.
how can marijuana get you into an emergency room?!
and how can it be that marijuana get more people in "er" then heroin?

marijuana probably wasnt the main reason they went to the emergency room, they probably just had weedz in their system and went in for something else and the media is just trying to make pot look dangerous

no, it means they mentioned the herb when they were in the hospital
it means theyre an idiot. One time this girl i knew went to the ER because she was anorexic and smoked a blunt with me and beatyou. she was fine but kept passing out.

they're prolly drunk as fuck and blazed a beazy. They blackout and crap/piss themselves and wake up in a hospital and the doctor goes up the person and says, "well uhh.. your blood alcohol was 0.37 and at .4 you would of died." "OH! and we found traces of maRiJuAnA in you blood too." popped. hahah

They don't test for weed, or any other illegal drug, without a good reason. Damn good reason, like you're displaying symptoms of an OD. A real OD.
And the 'admit diagnosis' isn't based on those tests, anyway, it's based on what the patient says.
I even went back to the pharmacy(*) and asked- the pharmacists all just laughed at me.
(*) yes, I worked in a pharmacy. No, it's not as cool as it sounds. Considering hassle+pay, I'd rather work in a Pizza Hut.

Well wouldn't the ER take a blood sample to see what drug(s) made you OD? Such as a full blown screening?
Oh and the poster put "emergency room visits" not really "drugs that people OD off of" so the person could easily be drunk, or high as hell off of cocaine or heroin and still be chillen with a joint, even if they didnt smoke that night and it'll still come up on the blood test.

No, they don't take a blood sample to see what you are ODing on, at least on at a city-owned hospital. Those tests cost money.
If you *were* really, truly ODing on something, it would be a narcotic, and an ampule of Narcan would solve the issue. Unless it was a stimulant Od, in which case you'd get morphine.(*)
Weed OD, they sit you down on a gurney and give you some Jello.
(*) One day, I happened by the Narc Tech doing something odd in the pharmacy. Conversation ensued- they had some 'outdated' morphine, and were shooting it down the sink. 2 milligrams in 2 mL of saline. Double handful of syringes.
