You're right, I don't really understand because I HAVE self control. However, I'm 50% german and 50% irish with about 15 out of my 20 immediate family having checked in to alcoholism rehab at some point. The problem is, I can enjoy beer responsibly, because I'm aware of the potential and I HAVE some self control. I've felt myself heading down the slope before and I just back pedal and GTFO. for me, its not about quitting drugs.
its about not doing them every day for no reason. why just smoke meth, to smoke meth? why trip on LSD with nothing to do? why get fucked up, just to get fucked up?
i plan what i do now around events. when a sick dub show is coming to town, me and my friends go all out. sick hotel room, bad ass show, and the right drugs for the situation.
but in between the events we plan around, we dont do anything any more.
i had to get over the I WANT TO GET FUCKED UP part of my life, and just do it when it seems right.
i think getting fucked up, just to get fucked up has some other hidden agenda. hiding from something, numbing something out, etc.
shit get a hobby man.

all a hobby is, is just affirmation of a healthy mind; as taking in things all the time is unbalanced and unhealthy. but it's just running around and hiding all the same.
