I have a 1000W dual ballast that has the transformer burnt up. Does anyone know where to locate parts to fix this issue that would be cost effective? Right now I am looking and it seems to be cheaper to just replace.
Local scrapyard if you are a real crafty bastard and don't mind rewinding them. You're probably better off buying a new one, or even a used one. Are you sure it's the transformer that's fried? You may need to replace other components as well.
Like a fridge its cheaper in the long run to replace the unit. I've got good old magnetic ballasts that I bought in 1988 a 400 watt HPS and MH and both are still working fine 29 years later. I've gone through 20 bulbs and some have died early maybe its your bulb. Best of luck.

Thats prob ur issue. Bulb. New fancy bulbs dont work in magnetic ballasts i tried this and found out hardway many moons ago advent of ebay ordering lol. Need to use bulbs from harware commercial lighting place.
Try your old bulb if still have it amd was working before switxhing bulbs.
It will go blue glow a bit but never ignites. Def try commercial non grow light before digging into ur box man!
