HELP MY SICK PLANT!
    #672768 - 05/27/13 02:10 PM (10 years, 10 months ago)

Hi there guys need help . I am using fox farms oceanic soil, 2 foot t5 bulbs and botanicare fert 20 hrs on 4 hrs off  soil run off ph 5.40.

She was doing fine then the leaves the last two days started doing a taco effect folding up in half .
The day before i flushed the root system with water then added fert like normal, gave it a day they continued folding while the very tip turned black . I think it was possible mg deficient from some reading . so i made a solution yesterday one table spoon calcium one table spoon Epsom salt one quart of water mixed and watered ......toward the end of the nigh the leaves started opening up normal un taco-ing if you will. I woke up this morning to find this

did i over feed ?

over water ?
over fert ?\
I have a fan on low in it and the light are raised to high for it to be heat.

it was falling over so i proped it up ....

how often do u water and how much do u give to each plant?
what is the ph of the water that you give to your plants?

the food ratio is pro gro and its one tablespoon and one half teaspoon mixed with one gallon along with one table spoon of Epsom salt and calcium.

i also added a hand full of gypsum to the soil for when the plant gets bigger.

That is one of the problems your ph should be 6.5  Plus your watering to much I think i  water mine ever two weeks or so as needed! My 5 gallon buckets stay wet for that long and i use a 400mh light

dude your ph is way to low.. that is more for hydro. you are getting nutrient lock out. I had a big prob from my ph being low.. I was phing my water around 6.2-6.3 wich was still a little to low.. and the plants starting doing a lot better when I starting phing around 6.8-6.9.

also how much water are you giving your plants when u water.. cause they way they are drooping kinda looks like how my plants will droop if I got a day or two  too long with out watering.

go to your local hydro store and buy some ph up. or online if you have no hydro/grow stores near you.

as for watering do you just take the gallon and go over it in a circle and poor al of it  at once?? Or do you poor some over it.. let it drain threw for then poor some more over and over till you use it all?

ok so i think that its nutrient toxicity ,,,,all the leaves are super dark green and laying flat ....

steps i just took .
1. flushed with water drain repeat ,,,till water coming out of the bottom was a little clear.

2. put a chop stick in there and supported the stem with very light ties to the chop stick ..... NOW I WAIT .

that should do it for flushing then.  make sure that when u do the next watering that your soil is really dry.. not just a inch down the top of the soil, you want to make sure that the roots have time to get air and dry a little so they don't rot by keeping them soaking wet non stop.. and good luck on your first grow, im doing my 1st grow also. im not a patient but im a caregiver.

I think I'm going to take that conclusion back.  If it was just an underwatering issue, it would have bounced back fully.

To be a bit blunt, I think your plant is going to die, and there isn't much you could do at this point by looks of it.

Possibly, it's not your classic presentation of overfert.  If you've been overwatering, there's a possibility it could be damping off.

The soil should have plenty of nutes for a solid 4-6 weeks, depending on how big of a container you are in, also keep in mind that when you transplant to a new container, there's new nutrients available.

Then that has plenty of nutrients for quite awhile.  And when watering you need to make sure that you are giving at least a couple of gallons of water each watering.
