yes i have 3 of each of those. but i'm using a basic clamp light with a twin adapter. would that be sufficient for the higher wattage bulbs or should i look for a more expensive clamp light?

It will handle more watts of CFL. The bigger the better. That being said, I have never personally used a CFL bulb larger than what I currently use, 68/300 watt.
I would get 2 bowl reflectors and have them coming in form different angles. The more light the better.
