 Summer Project

So every year i see these ants going to war with each other. The red fire ants vs the black carpenter ants. Me and a buddy have decided to capture and raise one black faction and one red faction for war with each other. we will raise the colonies seperate in different jars until full population and many eggs.
The war will then take place in a controlled, sealed environment to prevent escape. Oxygen will be accounted for of course with filters......problem will be finding/catching queens but there are many....any advice to catching queens in the summer????

either get a good shovel or trick the ants into settling a colony in a favorable artificial environment created by you like a bucket with candy in it lol

Seems kind of weird, fucked up, and cool at the same time to me 
I guess if the habitat you put them in is big enough to where they can set up their own territories n shit and not just be crawling over top of each other in chaos it would be kinda cool. As long as it's more of an observation thing and not a dog fighting thing, know what I mean?  I dunno, I gots a soft spot in me hearts for animals, no matter what the kind  I mean they're pretty much genetically engineered to fight each other anyway, the ants that is.

Yeah it definitely sounds like a cool experiment. I suppose it's a little twisted but they are fucking ants. Just dont like it escalate
