germinating san pedro

I heard to sprinkle a little bit of sand over the seed and water to germinate. I think it would be better to mist then water so you don't push the seed down too far. I Just recieved 20 seeds and i am just starting out. can't really find the info im looking for. Does anyone know what the PH of the water should be? should i use fertilizer? how often should i mist? Im thinking you should make shure the seed is moist 24/7 untill you see growth then lower misting times and water from the bottom once a week. when growth is bigger water from the bottom once a month. these are just quesses does anyone know the correct way?

I'm not really well versed in this, but I have grown many cacti using a bulk cactus soil from my gardening soil and pH 7 water. Never had any die except for a really tall barrel-type cactus that was thumped by a dog and snapped off at soil level.

I don't see any reason why not to mist those tiny seeds. Just make sure you mist enough to wet the soil right. A wet seed surrounded by dry soil will dehydrate much faster than one surrounded by wet soil. Maybe that is what you need for san pedro... I really don't know. My experiences with mescal have been strictly with plants gathered from outside.

just use regular cactus soil, make sure to pasturize it first. then throw the seeds in and dust over the top with sand lightly cuz they need sunlight as well to crack.
mist the pot with a spray bottle then what i do is cover it with plastic renolds wrap. let it breath a few times a day with regular mistings and keep light on them.

they are very very easy and fun to grow. make sure that when you take the wrap off you keep them well watered cuz when they are tiny they dry out easy

I dont pasturise or anything just straight sunshine mix#4 that has been wetted down in the trays. Then sow your seed, humidity domes are a must though.
