I just installed peer guardian and there is a lot of traffic... how do I find out what it is for?

I mean, with everything closed, lots of peer guardian traffic.

Is there any program I can use to find out what is accessing the net?

My friend uses peer guardian and it said he was getting hacked by like NASA and US universities. WTF?
