I actually have never really understood why people use bongs. You need more fire than most pipes, like a chillum.
A chillum requires very small increments of fire, the bong takes more fire and thus more smoke is wasted, and there is a higher chance that you're going to cough it all out with too big of a rip.

Sounds like you dont know how to properly use a bong. hit the weed with the flame, then you just inhale....... if you cant fill the whole chamber, dont try. It's a pretty simple routine.

IDK how you can say they use more fire? You don't corner your bowls? Also I don't know how you smoke your bongs but I don't waste any smoke.
