I've got like a dozen axes, one of them is always bound to be sharp. If not I've got a grinder.

Yeah if the axe is sharp, you can split ridiculous amounts of wood in like 2 hours. Shit adds up after a while.

One time, I was out at my friends farm/cabin house and we decided to build a big bon fire and I split a bunch of wood in solitude and this dude who had it in for me who was there decided he would prove his manhood by "splitting" more wood than me. He ended up chopping through logs at an unimpressive rate and he was like laying down exhausted a hour later with like a quarter of the wood chopped.
was mad lulz, we all buzzed off to drink beer and I guess he had never split logs before.

It's not even really how hard you hit them. Well, I mean you obviously have to put some kind of force behind it. It's more of the motion and where you hit them I guess. I've always enjoyed it. Good stress reliever too

Eh, if you're just splitting logs you use the weight of the logs when they've got the axe wedged into them to split them.
Chopping and sawing wood is a lot more tiring.

You can go right down on them with a chop to split them but bringing them up in the air after getting the axe lodged in and bringing them down is the only way you won't run out of gas if you're doing it all day.

I've always split them on the first hit or done that. Never done it all day though, 2 or 3 hours here and there. We've been talking about splitting wood for like an hour now.

my technique involves driving the axe into the center. then using a mallet to drive the axe all the way through. perfect splits every time. I do a lot of camping.

using two tools instead of one isn't efficient in my opinion.
whatever works though, splitting is like 30 times more efficient than chopping through the bark until you get through leaving you with pieces that are harder to build a decent fire with.

but yeah anyways alex says the guy from chatroulette was about 300lbs, and seemed to have dozens of pizza boxes all around him, and was in the middle of eating an ice cream sandwich with a slice of pizza on either side.
sounds like triptonic

I've heard of this Alex fellow before, and he's known to be modest when he tells a story.
