Burning Man 2010: The Metropolis

Burning man is in late August, but I just got finished talking to a good buddy of mine that's definitely going.
My wife won't go, but I'm trying extra hard to make it happen this year!

Anybody else gonna be a burner in 2010?
Maybe we could meet up on the playa.
This is gonna be my first time, so I want it to be memorable!

If you do end up going look up the maps training in psychedelic emergency treatment.  They do great work all over the world at these types of festivals.  I won't be there, but I am likely to attend the Psychedelic Science in the 21st Century Conference in san fran.  you've got a lot of time to make your arrangements for BM though.  Good luck.  I hope you go.  It's a life changing event for sure.

you can go to google maps and just type in burning man and it'll show you the location.

ill be there. this past year i hoped a freight train from oakland all the way there, tried sneaking in, got kicked out, then washed windows in fernly (a nearby town) for 3 days to make enuff $ for my 2 frends and i to make it in :rave:

I will not be there.  Unless something changes in the next 9 months or so.  I'd rather have a growery exclusive gathering.  You will find more people going to BM at the shroomery.  Hook it up with them, im sure the people going are cool anyway.

I heard some talk last year of setting up a renegade burn outside the festival perimeter.  Not sure if anything happened with it or not though. 

You could also just sneak in.

ive been a few times - last year my 2 buddies and i hopped a freight train outta oakland and jumped off like 10 miles outside of it. we had to hike through the desert and tried to sneak in but got caught. ended up washing car windows at a nearby gas station to make enough money for a ticket (we were gifted 2 at the gas station)

bm's amazing, wish i could go this year, but im broke (not that thats stopped me before)

if you want one you have to devise one.  It has to contain the runoff water too so that it can be packed out of Black Rock City.

Burning Man is all about self-sufficiency.

Do yourself a HUGE favor before the festie, and read the Burning Man FAQ, and some of the archives...you can't be at Burning Man unprepared, they'll even turn you around at the gate if you don't bring enough drinking water for the week.
