few pix of my guerilla
    #247165 -

eh so back sometime in april/may i threw down seeds in a few random places. Not expecting anything to come up, i've returned to the spot a few times since planting and realized the plants were growing but something was not right. After testing the PH i realized it was 4.5 :-X . I threw some lime and plant food down and returned 2 weeks later. To my suprise, one plant exploded in growth, a ripped a few up and potted another. So basically i have 2 plants worth keeping, both of which are bagseed. Here are some pics of the one thats directly planted in the ground, (pics of the potted plant later).

Thats awesome. So you can just chuck the seeds in the bush and if the conditions are right, it can grow on its own? (sorry my first post)

MJ is a fairly strong plant and can withstand many different conditions... if you are lucky it will grow without doing anything but most of the time you need to alter the PH of the soil and add some nutrients. The plant in the picture above just started showing alot of internode growth. Im getting so excited because im pretty sure i saw female preflowers.   should start buddin soon...

heres another pic, taken yesterday. bottom fan leaves keep dying off, think it was from adding lime + some plant food to get the ph right and get some nutes in the shitty ass soil.  Might have overdone it a little bit tho.  im Just hopin everything works out. Any tips?

Hey, It looks like youve got some fairly thick brush around your little number there, take some midsize bush clippers and trim that stuff back like 6 inches everytime you visit and your plant will gradually widein out in the new space your providing it.

Also you may be heading towards male-city. Not tryin to rain on your parade, just an educated guess. Males start showing around week 12 or 13. BeAware.

it's defintely not a male... this plant has been budding for about a week now.  all males in the vacinity were pulled last week, im just hoping any other guerilla growers around here dont leave their males out :-\ . After testing the soil it said i had a surplus of NPK, will this be okay now that it is flowering ?? PH is between 7 and 7.5, gonna give it a drink later with some ph down. Would love more feedback.. thanks to everyone who has already provided me with some... more pics later tonight or tomorrow

You can make that plant super yeild. Its ALL about tieing down correctly and slowly turning it on to more space around it. Cut back all brush from the ground up, 2feet around that lady. Within 2 weeks the lower branches will explode and it will just fill up the space.

Expose the inner plant to light via Low-Stress-Tieing. Always leave the top tip node to shoot for the sun. And make sure to cut back all that competitor brush.

Good luck ninja!

heres a few pix from today. I just realized that the water i was watering my plants with had a PH of 7.0+ , realized that wasnt helping my plant out so i dropped some PH down in the water and started giving it some 6.4 water today, hopefully foilage stops falling off ...

this shit is lookin sad. :frown: is it a big issue that the bottom fan leaves are dying off?? How critical is that to bud production? But This view looks a little better

is 10-56-10 feed adequate for flowering, i mixed it ~1/4 strength so i dont burn the shit outta the plant. It is definitely starting to fatten up since feeding em 3 days ago. Glad there is finally some N and P in the soil now. I Had a surplus of K before feeding them, thats probably the only thing that was keepin the plant alive lol. I really enjoy reading peoples comments and opinions. Please feel free to speak your mind. This is my first real grow where i actually attempted to take care of the plant rather than just sitting it out and hopin that shit works.

Sorry for the poor quality pics. Gonna take some macro shots later hopefully

Also should i add some epsom salt (mg) to my water next time i go to check on it to take care of that purple stem or should the bloom ferts im giving it have some in it?? If i should give em some, how much would u recommend per gallon of water?

Words of truth.
Last grow I had one plant tied down and another upright.
The tied down plant was nearly twice the size of the other.

I've also heard of people cutting the tip and tying it into the soil to produce more roots, and it shoots out again, they told me it was the "snake method". Don't know how true it is as I never tried it.

While I can offer no experiences using the "snake method" I don't think its worthy of a facepalm. Cannabis tips are adept at producing roots, or cloning would not as easy as it is. I don't see why a cannabis stem from a plant could not or would not produce another set of roots if given an adequate rooting medium. Plenty of other plants do this, in fact I believe it is salvia divinorum's primary method of reproduction. Now whether or not this method would be useful or productive is another story.

I'm talking about the main stem tip.

Admittedly it is 3rd hand knowledge.
The person who told me about it is the same one that showed me the tying down method.

I don't see why it's worth a face palm, but thanks for the welcome. I assume the tip is cut the same way a a cutting. Cut it on a 45 degree angle, remove the leaves, dip it in rooting hormone for a boost. If I had the space in my garden I'd try it myself.

I'm told it'll take up as much space as it's given if you keep rooting the tips. The advantage apparently is the rapid growth because there's so much roots to absorb goodness.

This is all coming from Australia too, home to the legends such as the polyploid ABC (Australian Bastard Cannabis) and the Mullum Madman, anything's possible when it comes to weed. Hell you could veg them out for years and create a tree.

Ok, so after replying to this "Snake Method" post i started to think about it and curiosity finally got the better of me. So i messaged and expert, Magash. He tells me that the snake method is a valid growing technique. And that it was adopted from the strawberry industry.

it's a take off on air layering. Air layering is taking a branch and where you would take the cutting you cut a little notch in it. Like a little v cut. Then wrap some soil around it then wrap that in cloth, Keep it moist. What is happening is pretty much taking cuttings on the plant itself. There just moving the branch down to the dirt level.

The idea comes from the strawberry industry

Hope he don't mind me posting this info he sent me, but i think it is a good bit of info for all to learn from and look into further.

Thanks for the official name muggles.

The only difference being that the connection between the plant parent isn't cut, it's all left as one giant plant with massive root growth.
