You don't get 6 months for a first DUI I'm pretty sure. I don't know his state laws, but that is extreme. And about the money issue: If you'd rather go to jail for '6 months' than pay a few hundred dollars, you need to get a sense of how valuable your freedom is. I mean shit.

I know, he was just being a bitch about it. A lot of the times if you dont have the money they will let you do community service also. And a weekend in jail at best for a DUI
