So in my flowering room I have 2 1000w lights, one HPS, one MH.
I've had great success  with just HPS, obviously it's what everyone uses. I've seen people use MH to supplement their HPS bulbs to achieve a better spectrum, supposedly making the yield and potency increase. The yield obviously from the extra light and the potency from the expanded light spectrum.
My plan is to either rotate the plants (11 of them) between the 2 lights every few days or swap the bulbs, which would require swapping the cords to the ballasts as one is switchable and one is not.
I'm hoping to see some change over HPS-only buds, though I'm not sure what it will be exactly.
My method is not as effective, I'm thinking, because I'm not supplementing the HPS but replacing half of it with MH. What does y'all think about my plan?
Should I just run 2000w HPS? It sure would be less hassle. But perhaps there would be enough light mixing between the two bulbs to make up for not having a base of all HPS and supplementing with MH...
Your thoughts, please.
eidt: OH! and what about using a higher frequency MH at the very end of flowering? I've heard using a 10000K bulb will hit the plants with extra UV radiation, causing some sort of amazing benefit? That statement needs a dash of salt
