Post something positive v3
    #864796 - 02/18/24 09:13 PM (7 months, 19 days ago)

I just found a jar of bud that I grew last season that I stashed away and forgot about last night 💀

I pressed some of it into dabs today :awehigh:

Does that bud have a strain name?
I'm up in Washington State and we don't have cultivation.
I'd like to grow a nice crop.  Just enough to catch a head change on occasion.

It's always good to find weed you stashed and forgot about  :yesnod: That looks dank as hell!

I once found a quarter that I had stashed,  and the best part was,  I had been out of weed for a long time and I was fiending.

That was a good day  :bigweed:

That Pot is very resinous.
Genetics only go so far.
Some people know how to grow more resinous Ganja.

No idea  I grew a random seed a couple years ago, then pollinated it with mandarin cookies v2 and this is what came out of it. (I also pollinated this one with crude fuel and an alien strain so this season should be 🔥)

I'm laughing because with this plant this was the first year I put literally almost zero effort into. I watered it maybe a handful of times during the entire season and mostly forgot about it, just let nature take care of it, no added chemicals or anything :lolsy:

Bro, that's like stumbling upon a hidden gem in your own stash! Must've been a pleasant surprise finding that jar of bud from last season.I can only imagine the satisfaction of turning something you grew yourself into some top-notch concentrates.By the way, speaking of elevating the smoking game, I've been eyeing up Gravity Bongs lately. They seem like they'd add a whole new dimension to the sesh. If you're ever curious to try one out, I found some sweet options at https://www.smokeday.com/bongs-water-pipes/gravity-bong.html. Might be worth checking out for your next smoke session.

I'm going to be getting a cutting of a strain called 1987 by purple city genetics soon. Anybody have any info on that strain? I can't really find anything on it.

The genetics are supposedly: (Ft. Collins Cough x SSSD) x (Kali Mist x SSSD)

I just hope they all survive cos they are all going outside 💀

Usually I'm ok but the past 2 years at the end of flower I would get damn worms that would destroy the buds and I don't use any chemicals so that is the hardest part is catching/killing the bugs.

I think this year I'm going to try to build a fully enclosed bug net around the plants to see if that helps.

Me too man, I'm super excited as well!
I have some good stuff to work with this season,  and I plan on creating some new crosses  :yesnod:

I only grow outdoors too,  and last season was the worst.

Nearly all of my plants but one got destroyed by groundhogs.
And I some got those worms that burrow into the stem,  and kill the plant from the inside out.

I don't use any chemicals on my plants either,  I'd rather not grow if I had to.

I know one thing,  I have limited seeds,  and I cna't afford to buy any, so I may have to grow in my yard instead of out in the bush this season.
I can't risk loosing any more good genetics.

If it's under a certain % thc it is legal to ship. So technically seeds are safe to ship.

Edit: just realized you said you can't buy any....well some popular sites run sales all the time. You can definitely get a little seed pack for like $20-$30

Yeah,  I have enough seeds though. Fire strains too  :yesnod:

I work just enough to pay the bills,  with no extra money to spend on anything else,  so I'll never be able to buy any seeds legal or not,  sadly.

I also can't smoke,  unless I grow my own,  So I can't afford to lose anything this season,  like last.

I have no friends period. You can't afford to get involved with people in this town,  and I'm not from here.

The few friends that I do have,  don't live in my state,  and none grow. This is why if I don't grow my own,  I don't smoke.

Hemp is legal to grow here,  if you are a farmer,  and we just legalized medical,  but to get medical cannabis,  you have to drive to another state that supplies it.
It can't be purchased here.  How freaking ludicrous is that!!!

You also can't just go out and meet people here either,  because this is a small country town,  and there are no clubs, malls, bars, or anything else for that matter. We just got alcohol legal here just a few years ago,  and before that,  you had to drive all the way to another town 30 miles away just to get any.
And for fun, on the weekends,  the local teenagers just all sit in their cars in front of Walmart and talk, hahaha! Talk about a pathetic and boring place to live!

I can't grow in my yard due to neighbors, and a blinding street light. However, I'm going to attempt some small autos,  since photos are out of the question. I also can not grow indoors either, sadly

I would never want to live in Florida  I've vacationed there a few times and it was amazing but I just wouldn't want to deal with 100% guerenteed hurricanes every single year....

And I might order the seeds I may wait until next year to grow them though as I have a big variety already.

I'm hoping to get back into cultivation soon myself, just need to pick up some bags of uncle bens randy ass brown rice titties and a noob needle :ohyeah:

But in all seriousness, I think I'm going to finally get my grow room set up this year.  Still lots of work to be done but I should be able to start setting up soon, just in time for summer temperatures to ruin my terpenes come harvest time :feelsbatman:

Cardboard monotub?  I like it!

I haven't grown a mushroom in 6 years, it will be nice getting back into it.  I'm trying to get it going soon so I can attempt to sell some wine cap spawn bags and pioppino grow kits locally.  That and maybe set up a stand at my local farmers market eventually.

I've experienced something similar.  I set 3 close friends up with DMT extraction kits, one of them did a proper extraction, one mixed everything together in the wrong order, and the last one gave his kit to the first guy.

I offered to show the heavier users I knew how to extract, but they determined before even trying that they were too stupid to pull it off. :smbfacepalm:

Yeah,  it's actually more the wall to wall people that suck. I can deal with the hurricanes,  haha!

But yeah,  really,  Florida is just bad people wise and weather wise,  so I'll retract that statement. It's much safer to just live where I am.

I just micrososed last night and it was great. After a few years of not being able to trip because of tooth pain I finally have been getting back into it. I still have one more tooth issue I'm getting fixed on the 18th but I couldn't wait cos I have missed the feeling lol it's like a mental/physical/spiritual detox and I've really been needing that.

I can't wait to start microdosing again, a mental/physical/spiritual detox is exactly what I've needed ever since I was poisoned with the most toxic non-radioactive element known to man.

Took around 20 clones yesterday, going for 100% success rate in pure coco.  I'll update with the actual success rate in a few weeks.

You have any experience with panaeolus spirit?

I used to dose it and hop on the free bus and ride around Whidbey Island.
I recommend powdered raw herbs mixed with juice or water.
Start with a small amount.  Be careful mixing herbs!
I used to get Herbal Energy Now Tablets from this defunct company and the recommended dose got you high!
Once I got a packet of Yohimbe Tablets from the gas station and the recommended dose was an overdose.
I went to the store to pick out fruits and veggies and I started to OD.  It was fucked.

They say there are 10,000 herbs.  I know how to use 156.  I have tried 400+ herbs.
Absinthe is interesting.  Wormwood.  They said it can damage the liver so I only took a good hit twice.

Yeah,  I want to get seeds and grow some myself,  so I know what's in what I ingest. It appears that it has all kinds of awesome health benefits too!

I'm not so much into herbs that get you a buzz,  unless it's cannabis. I prefer herbs for my health, and for seasoning my food dishes.

I'm going to look for a good cheap source for astragalus seeds.

Thanks for bringing this herb to my attention brother

I've been practicing Silat and Escrima since 1993 and Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi since 2008.  I like practicing slow twisting and circling steps with blades.  It nourishes my brain and I circulate my chi to stay healthy and massage my internal organs to stay soft and limber.
The first thing I would teach someone is how to relax and root and circulate Qi.  After relaxing, someone can learn basic Gong Fu!

Siberian Ginseng extract is available on Amazon for hella cheap.
It's been cooked.  I don't what kind of solvent they used to make the essence.
I am so high on American Ginseng.  Siberian is like smoking Schwag Pot.

OHH!  And they do sell Wild American Ginseng!  I found it on Amazon.

Ah,  I do need my Chi aligned

Dang, that wild Ginseng root is expensive on Amazon!

I'd like to order some to maybe grow, but man I can't afford it!

What are you ordering roots or powder?

I live in America, I can try to hunt you some ginseng this year if you want? I haven't hunted it in years. (They grow around where I live)

Do I ever!!! Yes please,  And if you do go,  please take habitat pics and shots of them in the wild too,  if you can

I also live in america,  and it grows in my state too,  just not in my area as far as I know.

I just looked, and it said my state has some of the highest quality Ginseng out of the whole country.

It's more situated in the Eastern and south Eastern part of my sate,  towards the mountains. But it does grow here in the west too.

I have never seen any before,  and I spend most of my time in the woods,  foraging for plants and mushrooms,  so I doubt that it grows in my immediate area.

However,  when I go morel hunting tomorrow,  I'll be on the look out just for the hell of it.

Keep me posted,  and good luck

Yeah,  I like growing my own herbs. Why spend ungodly amounts of money on all that,  especially cannabis,  when one can just grow their own

You have to dry the Ginseng after you pick it.  Study how to do it before you pick so you have the facilities all set.

This is what they look like:(be aware there are look alikes. Ginseng has a plant based stem where a lot of the look alike are just baby trees that have bark on the stem and won't have berries.)

It's a great idea cos the sooner the plant them the less you will have to wait

Edit: I used to hunt so much that when I would close my eyes I would see roots 🤣

That was the only time I ever enjoyed a bologna sandwhich too. When I would be hiking all day and run out of food but found a good spot so I stayed, then by the time I got back to town somebody had bologna and I said give me that fucking shit 💀

Yeah,  I used to hunt cubes so much,  that I dreamed of cow fields several times a week

Hunting for mushrooms/herbs is an amazing addiction and rush!

I could never be hungry enough to eat bologna  :awepuke:

That stuff is made out of things even a starving animal would probably not eat.

I will admit though,  when I ate meat,  I used to love fried bologna,  but alas,  that was in a galaxy far far away...........

Hella positive: I birthed my golden halo cakes into a shoebox the other night and it didn't look like it was going to colonize(being as it was from a spore syringe I made like 8+ years ago that grew myc and just sat in a cabinet this whole time...)

Well today I noticed it is finally starting to colonize.....I'm bringing back the old golden halo :vibin:

1234go on shroomery said that tree can't be more than 30-40 years old and that it's not native american.....what do you guys think?

For context: most of the trees around here stay small/skinny, and also my great grandfather bought 12 acres of woods in like 1991, it's all woods and farmland for generations, I have also never seen any evidence of human activity in the woods either, I also live by a creek that eventually connects to a river that was literally named by native Americans 💀.

With that being said what would you guys think?

Well,  most of the ones that I've seen are very old trees with thick trunks. Yours just doesn't seem old enough,  but I'm no expert.

Check these guys out!

All my weed plants are doing really good :vibin:

How is everyone else's plants going?

Edit: my golden halo shoebox is pretty much fully colonized now so it should be fruiting anytime :excited:

I think I screwed up my last batch of clones trying to root them in straight coco, probably too wet.  Next time I'll throw some perlite in there, and do some in plugs just in case.  I'd really like to replace my mother plant soon, she's like 6 feet tall in a 1 gal.

I'd like to dedicate this post to anti-emetics.  Today marks the end of week one without weed, on day 2 I threw up.  Day three I had oral surgery, and couldn't risk throwing up after that, so I've been working my way through my mother's stash of Zofran whenever I feel queasy.

Also tried one of her promethazine pills, shit knocked me out along with the nausea.

I really need to get back to smoking weed and eating solid foods, I've lost 12 lbs over the last 7 days.

Had to stop all anti-inflammatories for surgery on my tongue, since it's such vascular tissue cannabis can prevent it from healing properly.

I also threw away my old vape hose and ordered 20 ft of new stuff, but it probably won't be here for another week.  That was my mistake.

On a positive note, at least one of my clones ended up rooting.  Felt nice to throw that giant bush out on the burn pile, it was so rootbound that there was no growing medium in sight when I pulled off the pot.

Got this one sexed about a week ago,  and I have some pollen.
When would be a good time to pollinate her?
I want to make sure the pollen takes.

I'd wait maybe 2-3 weeks, the more pistils you have the more seeds you can make, however white pistils can be pollinated whenever, even preflowers on a plant in veg will produce seeds if pollinated, so it's up to you.

Keep in mind you kind of have to decide whether you want seeds or flower, as once they are pollinated they will dedicate most of their resources to finishing the seeds.

You can keep pollen in the fridge.
I used to collect pollen in a separate room and then use a paintbrush to pollinate a few buds.
The results were fairly consistent.

Also not true, the last 2 years I had a monster plant each year and I pollinated just a couple low branches each time and both times the rest of the bud came out just as good as the one that I didn't pollinate. And that was a clone of the one I pollinated. The buds were indistinguishable in potency.

Perhaps I worded that poorly.  I have a feeling it would be different on a tiny plant like that with limited resources compared to the monster you grew in the ground under the sun.  If there are limited resources, the plant will prioritize seed development over buds and trichomes.  That doesn't mean you won't get both, just that you'll get less flower and diminished trichome production if there isn't enough resources to go around.

If they ever allow cultivation...
I've got a great Porch garden.  It gets great Sun in the season.
I'd love to grow a few Pot Plants.
Up in Washington State Cultivation is Illegal.

Looks like there's some people working towards legalizing home grows there, might happen sooner than you think.  There are usually stipulations though, like can't be in public view, must be enclosed and locked, etc.  Hopefully you're allowed to grow soon, and can make that spot work for you.

Ok, cool, thanks
I cut off some male flowers the other day and they are drying. They already dropped pollen,
so once it's all dried,  I'll store it until I'm ready to pollinate.

Being as it's nearly impossible for me to score seeds,  I'm not worried about any smoke from this one.

I mean,  I do have a few seeds,  but they are feminized autos.
Luckily,  I had a few of my own seeds from last season,  a cross that I made,  and that is the only way for me to make more seeds.

Finally got some fishing in today,  and I caught a ton!
I caught mostly bluegill,  hybrid sunfish,  and a big old bass. Everything was keeper size too.
I would have taken more pics, but I failed to charge my battery on my camera,  and it died on me

Any of you guys fish?

I go fishing every now and then, mostly with my 74 year old buddy.  Last year we went night fishing a few times, first time I was catching rainbow trout every cast, one was even over 22", the second time we went we caught a single bluegill.

He bought me a fly rod a while back, but I still have to learn how to use it. I've heard fly fishing is the most fun.

One time I went camping with my buddy in the woods on a lake.  When we got out there, another buddy joined us and brought a 12 pack.  We caught some fish, and found a spot in the protruding bedrock that could be used as a stove with a few flat rocks stacked over it and fried them up, some real stone age shit.

Then, since we only had a two person tent, we had to construct a shelter for buddy #3 out of branches and ferns.  He was drunk enough that he passed out in it on the forest floor .

When you catch a shark, they have to shoot it in the head with a pistol so it doesn't tap dance on the deck and hurt people.

Just when I thought spring was here..

Blizzard warning, total snow accumulations of up to 27 inches, 45 mph winds, etc.

"Travel will become very difficult to impossible.  Tree damage and power outages could become widespread."

I used to have a car battery and inverter I could run my dry herb vape off of, not anymore :feelsbatman:

Ummmm, this is not positive buddy

But yeah,  it has been super humid here,  with temps near 80 for the past few days,
and I wake up this morning and it's cold. It's not even going to make it out of the'
low 50's for highs today  :mad2: Not Blizzard like, but miserable to me,  no doubt.

Hope everything will be well with you and I hope your power doesn't go out

No way! Florida has been getting all kinds of bad weather from flooding to tornadoes!

I have lived all over the united sates, from the West Coast to the East,  and I'll tell you this,  I never experienced one bad sunless day
when I lived in Arizona.

In Florida I saw snow,  I went though three Hurricanes,  flooding, etc,  you name it!

You can't go wrong with sun 24/7,  so let's all move on over to Arizona!

Just look at this beautiful forecast  :yesnod:

That's hella positive! There are kids that live in desserts that will never know the joy of making a snow angel or building a snowman so you should be grateful and go outside and sled or something :kingcrankey:

Yeah,  good for people that like freezing cold and snow,  However,  I do not,  I hate it!

It used to show feet here when I was a kid,  back when our grow zone was 6b.
And,  it would get cold and stay cold the whole winter. Now,  our grow zone is 7B, and it does no snow anymore,
nor does it even really get that cold either. I love it too!  The hotter it is the better,  in my opinion  :hellfire:

And,  those golden halos look bad @ss!!!  They will drop spores,  you just wait and see  :mushroom2:

Spirit's golden halos have peyronies! :awewtf:

A bunch more of my clones rooted, I took a few more off the other plant and left her to die in the snow.  Trying to eliminate fungus gnats before I expand my grow.

Also was craving BLTs so I planted 4 tomatoes and a cuke.  Probably won't do much more this year.

Did someone say Tomatoes!

As soon as I get all these in the ground,  I have even more tomato seeds to start  :yesnod:

:ohyeah: What kind of tomatoes did you plant/are you planting?  I went with Thorburn terra cotta, some freebies from a few years ago.  Last year my black strawberry tomatoes were really popular with my grandma, I usually try to have a few good well established plants for her.

Seriously? I don't even need a jacket until high 40s(depending on wind chill)

Edit: but then again I am super hot blooded. My body temp is always high and my feet are always super hot so I normally go barefoot when I go outside pretty much all my life.  And because I LOVE the feeling of grass on my feet.

Right on man!

I've never heard of those before. You'll have to post pics of the fruits eventually

I went with Aunt Ruby's German Green,  Beefsteak,  Mortgage Lifter,  Big Red,  Red Cherry,  Chocolate Cherry,
Big Rainbow,  Sweet 100,  Large Red Cherry,  Yellow,  Oxheart,  Early Girl,  Better Boy,  and Celebrity.

I take bags of my tomato's to my Grandma every year and she eats them like candy! Gotta love Grandma's

Wow man!  It was near 80 for the past few days and I still wore long sleeves, haha!

I go barefoot all summer long and I hate wearing socks,  because my feet sweat like the dickens!
I recently found a way to counteract this by wearing deodorant on my feet.
Man, I wish I would have known about doing this years ago

I know,  too much information, hahaha!  :crazy2:

Whoa there Nelly! I never said jacket, haha! I said it was near 80 and I had long sleeves on
That being said,  it was super windy and cloudy,  or there would have been no way that I could have,  what with our drenching humidity.

I don't wear coat's or jackets here, as it does not get cold enough to do so. I actually don't even own either.
I wear sweatshirts or long sleeve shirts only on the days when it's below 60, unless it's cloudy or windy.
Any temp higher than that,  with the sun out,  it's just too hot to do so,  becuse of how high the humidity is here.
Our humidity is actually higher than that of Florida,  Believe it or not and I'm a few states north of there.

I will say this,  I was more cold tolerant when I lived in Spokane,  but boy,  was that ever miserable! I don't know how people do it!

Ok so I don't see any gold spores yet BUT I do see some regular spores on some of the veils so I can at least keep this going in hopes of getting the golden ticket.....I'm still going to attempt to print the ones that look sporesless as they might just have super light gold spores....

At least it looks like they dropped some spores so at least I can keep trying. I took around 7 or so prints so I'll see what what happens.

My golden halo spores back in the day were pinkish, I'm not sure the golden spore trait was ever nailed down completely.

Still looks like a successful harvest regardless :awesome:

I got a lot of work done in the garden yesterday!

I finally got around to putting one of my root-bound Brugmasia's in the ground!

And next,  I need to re-pot some cacti  :peyotespectrum::peyotespectrum:

After a heavy defoliation,  I noticed some swollen calyxes,  so my seed run was a success!
I went ahead and fertilized her a bit too early, so there are not going to be a lot,  though.

Good job 👏

Yeah I managed to get about 5 prints from the golden halo. I'm going to run it again to try to get the gold. I'm sending 2 to members on the shroomery and you can have one as well if you want. I doubt it since it's not gold

I just got a pound of Powdered Astragalus Root.  This brand is less bitter and more Earthy tasting than what my old supplier supplies.
I also got chocolate bars infused with Medicinal Mushrooms.  Chaga, Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, and Reishi.  They are delicious.

I have a big chunk of money that is becoming worthless.  I don't know what to do with it.
Everyone with a life savings is tripping off this inflation.  If it keeps up, money will have lost most of it's value soon.

My buddy's son gave me his grow setup in exchange for a bag of weed somewhere down the road.  Unfortunately he smokes, so the tent and fans smell like shit, but the light is a mars sp 250 and should make an excellent veg light with some deodorizing spray :carlton:

Probably fish hydrolysate, can be useful in organics, but I like to look at it in terms of cost.  Say that bottle costs $15 and lasts you 1 month.  Compare that to a 25# bag of Jacks 321 and calnit @ $150 shipped, which will last you many years.  Obviously you have to consider how much you'd actually use to decide if it's worth it, but personally I love having big bags of nutrient salts I can dip into when my smaller containers get low.

I just ordered a 20 pound bag of pure positivity.
I'd use alchemy to transform it into a truck, Gold Rope.
It takes rainbows and then at the end of the rainbow is the positivity.
It's really good for everyone to get a leg up.

Do you till or add earthworms when you plant?
I used to gather earthworm castings from this hillside and fertilize with those indoor.
There were little piles everywhere of these rich, black castings.
One of the problems with fertilizer is the Pot tastes like it.
