I got u.
greatlakesgenetics.com
jbcseeds.com
dcseedexchange.com
I've even found a strain you might like; https://www.greatlakesgenetics.com/product/ss009-eternal-sunshine/
Keep in mind sativa strains come with longer flowering times, up to 16 weeks for that cross.

I used to buy clones from San Francisco for $10 each. I was just growing for fun. I made glass pipes and bought most of my ganja. I also used to get cloned sacks of shrooms as an interesting side note!

I've got about 10 seeds that I've collected over the past couple of years from bags or from homies. I'm sure those genetics are dank but I'm just gonna try and find somebody who will give me some more free seeds

IME bag seed has a high probability of containing hermaphrodites. Nothing wrong with growing it out to see, just don't be too disappointed if one or more of your plants turns out to be worthless after a month or two of growing.
But yeah, for your first grow, bag seed is fine. You can accidentally kill a few without feeling like you wasted $70. Chances are you'll get a hermie, or at least a male, so you'll learn to identify those. If you find a male, and a good female or two, you can make your own seeds and never have to worry about not having beans to experiment with again!
As far as seeds being expensive, I feel you there. Even the $3 a seed I usually pay adds up fast. But once you find something good and learn how to clone it, those genetics are yours to grow and breed with forever. That's what you're really paying for.

Cool thanks for the tips..
I will probably go with that advice and grow out the bag seed just for the experience.
What's your opinion on auto flowers. It seems like it could be a pretty low effort way just to get some buds. I understand that cloning them is not so great. And I do want to learn about breeding and all of that stuff so I will get some seeds eventually, but I'm curious if the autoflowers are a total waste of time or if I should just focus my efforts on the bag seed. What do you think?

Autos have come a long way in the past decade, but photoperiods are still superior in most aspects. If you have a short growing season and you want to do some outdoor plants, autos would be perfect. But I prefer photoperiods for indoor plants.
Over the past few months a newer auto breeder has been running a promo across several seed banks. I snagged 4 auto fem seeds for free with my most recent order. The breeder is Twenty20 Mendocino. The promo is no longer going on, but you can still buy some of their beans at GLG... for $10 a seed!
I'd say grow out what you have to learn. Once you are confident you can get through the early stages of growth, root clones, and keep the plants healthy through flower, then it makes more sense to start spending money on good genetics.

Free seeds are great
Last Christmas/new years GLG did a free seed giveaway to the first 50 people to claim it. I managed to snag one, and got a t shirt, a pack of Bodhi seeds, and a few other seeds.
There is one other place I know of where you can get seeds for the cost of shipping. They seem to run out fast so you have to stay informed on when the next drop is if you want a chance at snagging some; https://diygreenlife.com/seed-shop/
