My grandpap was in a rehab sort of old folks home for a few weeks and I went to visit him. It was taxing because there were old people just sitting around and I got the overwhelming feeling a lot of them just wanted to die already. It was a challenge to stay optimistic but at the same time made me count my blessings. Getting old as fuck is not a smooth road, it’s like some weird paychological and physical torture. Stay shroomy.
Compared to the mentally challenged, it's not nasty.
These people aren't hiding their poop in dresser drawers and throwing lamps at you. I am sure it happens, but typically, the elderly are not doing it. Most of them talked to me and were very jolly people.
The facility is actually impressive. I never spent any time in an elderly home, but I have to say I am impressed. The activity coordinator is very good at keeping people moving and involved in activities that they laugh and have fun with.
I don't want to end up in one of these homes, but I don't rule it out either. Sometimes company can heal.
