Holy shit, man.
This is from a reddit post:
Quote:
Somali reporting into this thread: Some Somali news agencies are reporting over 200 died in the bombing.
Al-Shabaab isn't taking a credit for this, which is rather weird. Even though they're prime suspects, they usually take credit quickly and/or it's obvious they did it.
Bombs this big are not normal, not even by Al-Shabaab. I actually doubt it's them who did it but who else can do this instead?
Al-Shabaab usually avoid directly attacking civilians since they don't want to flame the relations between them and the civilians. What they do instead is target key targets and they consider anyone being near the key targets as enemies of Al-Shabaab instead. In this case, I don't know who
Al-Shabaab's key target(s) are: The truck where the bomb was in, evaded several security checkpoints before the detonation, this seems to be well-planned. Not something Al-Shabaab would do.
Somali conspiracists are saying this may be part of the feud between Gulf nations vs Qatar. Others also say this may be politically motivated due to the meetings that the president has had past a few days prior to the bombing.
Here's a livelink of the aftermath.
