slippery slope marketing. Most the stuff they say about the lights is hyped out.
So your lighting up a 4x4 area then... you need at least 600watts (actual power draw) from a good light, but probably more like 7-800w. I spent like $1400 on my XML650 to cover that area.
You could build one for about half of that. I'm done buying pre-fab LED's. I've built a few small lights and will build my next big light when I need it. If you can solder and drill a hole you could figure it out. The hardest part is selecting the right diodes.
