I'm not a real experienced grower but I've got a few indoor grows under my belt. Hard to say for sure but id say you have at least another 4 weeks before they're mature enough for harvest. Could even be another 8 weeks or more if its a sativa dominant strain.
Yep, 8 to 12+ weeks total flower time depending on genetics. You can pick up a cheap Jeweller's loupe or microscope and keep track of the trichomes once you get closer to 8 weeks flower time.
With Indica strains, a combination of 50% clear/milky heads and 50% amber heads is about the optimal time to harvest. With sativas, I've heard that you want something more like 70% clear/cloudy and 30% amber, but I've never grown any long-flowering sativas so I can't really attest to that.
Since mataro blue is an indica with a rated flower period of 8.5 weeks, you should probably wait another 4 weeks, then start checking your trichomes for that 50/50 color ratio.
Hope this helps
