Could an aerator be placed at the bottom of an hemp bucket to aerate the water reservoir?

Specifically in roughly 3-5 gallon buckets with large perlite at the bottom and coco coir as the main medium?

Not sure how well a small pump would work or if it would see any benefit, but the air dome for the airpot worked well for me when I had them.

You know years ago, many people were doing this.
Then the topic just died off and there isn't much talk about it any more.
I tried it with just straight perlite, felt that ll I saw was a increase in evaporation rate.
