I've actually been practicing martial arts for over 30 years.  I have a low strength style I developed that doesn't depend on power as much.  And it's true.  Most people in BJJ never make it past white belt and most MMA fighters don't know how to fight.
If you do get into BJJ, look for a school that teaches for violence.  They teach more of the standing up grappling, fighting, takedowns, etc.  Peace.

Oh so you're working up the strength to train full time even though you spent the past 30 years training? nothing fishy about that

Tell me more about how effective this 'low strength style' is. I've been wishing and dreaming for a style that I could invest myself in for decades without making progress and you are clearly who I have been seeking.

Wu tai chi staff for flavor in empty hands!
I'm getting ready to move next spring so I can train full time with this master of Wu style tai chi I found.

I can almost do full splits now.  I've been stretching for three months.  My ganja supply is depleted as of tomorrow.

Just did a 5 mile trail run with my dog.
Little bastard took some coaxing but did pretty good.

Wu style tai chi sword and double sword, which I improvise.  There is no Wu tai chi double sword form.  I draw from my knowledge of silat weaponry.  I've been pacticing tai chi on my own for eight years.

Went through all 18 silat stick forms I know.  I'm trying to learn Wu style tai chi, but I couldn't go without some silat today.  All out of ganja.

Bought more ganja.  Smoked a joint and went through Wu tai chi's empty hand slow form three times.  When I do five hour sessions, which I can't do yet, I like to alternate between weapon and empty hand practice.
I might buy more DMT.  I haven't decided.  It's really hardcore.

Practiced all the knife forms I know.  Knife skills are good for developing fast, deadly hand skills and defense against strikes.  All weapons are good for defense because you have to think defensively with the weapon.  You can't get whacked or cut or you're going to lose.
I'm planning on more every day!

I've been practicing little flips and stuff with knives to increase coordination, it's fun.

Working on working out like One Punch Man.
100 Sit ups, 100 push ups, 100 squats, 10k jog. Every day.

I'm getting there.
Cannot physically do 100 push ups from my toes. 100 squats and 4k made my legs absolute jelly during the run, and made me not want to get out of bed at all.

Be careful.  It takes 9 months to get into shape.  It also takes 9 months to atrophy.

Just got back from a 10 mile hike.  An owl flew and landed a few hundred feet in front of me.  It chilled out for a few minutes and then flew away.  A lot of bald eagles up here in WA state.  They've recovered in numbers since I've been living here.  There's also marsh hawk, heron, and other bird action.  I love to watch the big birds.  I've seen seals and dolphins but not a whale yet.
