Growing forest/edible plants in a terrarium (newby question about setup)

I am a frequent over at the shroomery and have also posted this over there. perhaps the users here can help me out, as well! :laugh:

Anyways.. i'm considering making or finding an object like this:

However, I want to be able to put a light inside of it. i have 6500K temperature CFL bulbs at 1600 lumens brightness. they are 23w power usage (100w equiv).

In a setup like the case i linked above, would this lighting solution be enough? Does it matter what plants i grow? I'm thinking it will either be a terrarium with random plants (fern, moss, etc..) or perhaps for growing herbs used for culinary matters.

cool set up.

u can get 42watt cfl bulbs at wally world for $14-16 ea
