If you have problems with rockwool PH then get some of this and soak them overnight before putting seeds into the plugs and you won't have ph problems. Plus there are some hormones in it that help seeds to get a start. The stuff is cheap and easy to find.

:happyweed:

Im trying not to buy more stuff, if I have to fix something b4 using it its not for me..

With the correct about of oxygen being pumped into the water you wont get root rot

you have got to start reading more of the posts because this isnt even relevant to my uses..
my seedlings were in rockwool not water so no amount of oxygenated water would have done squat.
if I were running dwc I would understand but you can read one post and diagnose anything accurately..  thats not help. :smirk:

im just saying you seem like a beginner, rockwool isn't for you, use pellets. U got root rot because you don't know how to properly execute rockwool method currently im assuming. forget the rockwool, go with clay pellets my friend im telling you. u wont regret it. But im not demanding you to if that's what you may start thinking.

Rockwool, no exp hydro=fail, now with clay pellets, if you fail its because you idnt spend enough on the right equipment.

You don't even need to chage anything, you doing just fine... just get rockwool out of ur head.
and I hope u weren't sying I didn't read any of this. I read it all 3 times before posting my 1st post.

and yes oxygenated water would hve helped, you obviously drowned and killed your plans you did say correct? take advice

they were in rockwool on top of hydroton not water, how do you oxygenate rockwool cubes? :waits:

I have been using hydroton, thats also why I said read my posts more, you keep telling me to use something I have been using and it doesnt suit my needs either.  I cant transplant from hydrton to a netpot with removing the whole root from out the hydroton, I need something that protects the roots during transplanting..

I know how to germinate, I know how to veg, I know how to flower, its the transitions Im having a hard time with because when I transplant the roots get damaged and I lose plants.

just trying to find a solution to that and rockwool isnt it.  neither is hydroton :hehehe:

but these plugs seem to have my solution so I have to get some and try them b4 I can say Im retarded.  :wow:

I cant have loose dangly roots because when I put the seedlings into veg I have nothing to hold the little guy up, hydroton doesnt do that.  if I made it past that issue I have to transplant the vegged plant into flower so I have to transplant from my veg area to my flower room and put the roots into growstone (rough edge stones) and without something to protect the rootball it breaks and plants die.

hydroton falls off so thats not a solution to my issue.  rockwool is apparently to complicated for my dumb ass so Im going to try the rapid rooters.

I did well in soil and rapid rooters look like pressed coir which Im familiar with in growing shrooms.
trial and error right now for me

I wish somebody would have told me that sooner cause all that has been holding my plants up in my hydro gardens since 1987 is hydroton all of them started in rockwool or plugs.

Now what am I gonna do :facepalm3:

Now I may be doing something wrong but I'm betting you need to learn how to plant into hydroton. First the rockwool doesn't lay on top of it it goes into it. Hydroton can hold up 6 ft plants with no problems.

thats not what I was referring to Mag and you know it..

I have to have the plant in something to stick it into hydroton..

hydroton wont hold a seedling up if its just a sprout.

my issue is getting the seedling into something and having it live.  <--  THIS

you guys keep taking parts out of context and not taking into context everything else Ive said.  :waits:

now if you guys are done being smart asses

I have a hydroton tray for my germinated seedlings, once I have seedlings Im trying to find something to put them in so I can put them into netpots of hydroton for veg.  :wow:

I veg in my aerocloner in 2" netpots with hydroton

then once vegged I take the netpots and transplant them into my flower room into growstone.

my whole issue is getting the seedling to survive b4 veg

I cant just stick a seedling by itself into hydroton without rockwool or plugs and rockwool is a bust for me so I have to try plugs.

thanks Stoneth for your help :hatsoff:

so even after I used plugs I failed..  another 2 dozen seeds waisted on me not knowing whats wrong and why I cant start seeds anymore.  :wow:

hydroton = fail
perlite = fail
rockwool = fail
rapid rooters = fail

hundreds of dollars in seeds.. = dead  :suicide:

I honestly dont understand whats happening and why they pop open but when I put them in anything they all stop and just sit there doing nothing.. ever.  :confused2:

I dont have anyone that lives around me that knows squat about growing so its you guys or Im doomed I guess.  :shrug2:

what could be my problem as to why I cant start anything?  so lost :smirk:

I put the seeds on a wash cloth in a ziplock and once they germinate and have a nice taproot sticking out I place them in the plugs and put the plugs into the tray thats sits on top of perlite.

then nothing..  no more growth, no more nothing.  just nothing..

its been like this for over a year now and I just dont get it..  :noob:

I have no issues with clones or cloning and when I first started I didnt have any issue with starting seeds either thats why its so frustrating cus I know Ive done this b4..  :wow:

what sux is that I spent lots of money on getting my hyrdo setup going and now I cant even use it cus I cant get a seed to get past taproots.. :waits:

probably a bad idea to start in soil then somehow get the dirt off the roots to put into  my plugs or even my netpots to veg?  stress?

isnt a lil dirt really bad for hydro setups/pumps etc..

Im running out of options/seeds/money

I removed all the soil form a plant. The soil it was in, way to hot and was burning the plant. I was able to remove the soil using warm to cool water.
I replanted in soil but there was very litte sock as long as your kind to the plant.

Good Luck

Stoneth is correct!  I have always used rapid rooters when cloning and have 100% success with cloning thus far.

garden flats on a bed of perlite with happy frog soil

started 3 og kush, 2 critical impact, 2 jack herer and 5 northern highlights

the crits popped first as you can see and 1 of each so far :ganja:

guess Im a soil starter then into netpots to veg in my aerocloner then into my ebb an flow setup to flower.  :super:
