FARGO – A man carrying marijuana and methamphetamine led two officers on a foot chase early Thursday morning, and when they caught up with him, his only words were “suck it,” court documents said.
Martin J. Hulst, 29, of Fargo was arrested for his third or more offense of methamphetamine possession with intent to deliver – a Class A felony with a minimum imprisonment of 20 years.
His other charges were two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and refusal to halt.
Hulst had previously been arrested for multiple misdemeanors and felonies relating to drug possession and fleeing police, records show.
According to court documents, the Thursday chase occurred about 12:14 a.m. around the 800 block between 14th Street and College Avenue, after the suspect failed to stop, then pulled over and started to flee on foot. Officers finally caught up with him when he slipped on ice.
Two others fled the scene – a male in the backseat and female in the front passenger seat, documents said.
Police searched Hulst and found 17.6 grams of marijuana in his coat pocket, 18.2 grams of a white crystal substance in his silver minivan, two glass pipes, a digital scale with white residue and $858 in cash.
