Week three. I know, shitty pics, maybe that fat fuckin' bearded longhair gift giver
will hook a brother up with a decent camera this year.
Plants are about 4 to 5 inches tall.
I decided to top the Dark Star and the SAGE and I rooted the cuttings in some "super plugs" with a root hormone.
I also rooted a spearmint, peppermint, catnip, oregano and a basil cutting.
The topped plants are on the right.
I'm using 4-42w and 5-23w 6500k CFLs. I had to move the lights
about 4-5" away from the top of the plants to keep temps around 80oF.
Is it OK to remove a couple of the larger leaves to allow better light penetration
and provide growing space for lower leaves/ future branches to grow?
Also, is it too early to start with Nutes? I picked up a pint of FF Big Bloom on sale
for when they go to flower. Soil I'm using is FFOF.
I was expecting these babies to be taller, but I guess compact growth is a good thing.
Also, last week my brother visited with a bag he got that was called Acapulco Gold.
Nice energetic high. I found 8 seeds, germanated 4 of them and they all sprouted.
Wonder what the chances are that that's what they are?
His source has been in the game for years. Time will tell.

Me personally, In ff I wouldnt start feeding till there a month or so old depending on pot size. Yours look like 1-2 gal so I would say 4 weeks would be good then feed like half to see how your plants like it?

Looking pretty good for only 3 weeks in. How much light are you using for this grow? (include lumens if possible)? And what kind of soil and nutrients are you using?
Edit: just saw what soil and nutes you're using 
But I'm still confused about the lights. Are you using all those CFLs and the HPS?

No, I'm saving the HPS for when they flower.
The 4 - 42w are 2800 each,
plus 4 - 23w at 1500, so 17,000 lumens.
I've also got 2 more 23's for the 4 A. Gold
and 1 Super Iced Grapefruit sprouts that are now about 8 or 9 days old.
Tomorrow I'm pulling them all out for a good watering and to reconfigure my light layout.
A few of the leaves have yellow tips and slight curling up at the serrated edges
that I suspect is from the lights heat. Temps are between 75 and 85oF,
depending on when the fan kicks on(30 min. Every 3 hrs.)
I'm debating whether to let the fan run either 24/7 or just 18 hrs while the lights are on.
I'm also going to check for any sign of bugs. I already found a few black gnats flying about
plus 1 tiny skinny green fly that I promptly killed.(less than 1/8" long)
I suspect the gnats came from the FFOF because I found 2 more
inside the bag after I had used about 1/2 of it.
I keep a 5" dia. dish of water in there for humidity and
I've already found 2 dead gnats floating in it.
Think it's OK to remove a few of the largest leaves for better light penetration
and to allow more room for the lower leaves to grow? The Widow that I topped
2 weeks ago is really looking crowded.
I wish I had a better camera. All I have is an IPad and a shitty old flip phone for pics.
I sure am loving this grow and the pleasant aroma in the air from these little girls.

I wouldn't remove any leaves unless they were severely damaged. By removing healthy leaves the plant is losing energy.

Yeah don't do anything to stress the autos. I'd keep the fans going 24/7, mites love stagnant air. Or at least more than 30 mins every 3 hours. I do a cycle where I run 2 hours on, 15 minutes off during the day but at night on the whole time. But that is the intake and exhaust. I run an oscilatting fan 24/7.
You add humidity? I am doing anything I can to lower it lol.

Looks like the Critical Auto is beginning flower stage, pistils are forming.
Is that normal to start flowering at 4 weeks?
Will adding 2300 k of light benefit the auto?
They're still getting 6500 k , as are
the other plants, for another 3 to 4 weeks (maybe more)
Also, these plants are much ore compact than I was expecting. (Only 5 - 6" nches tall)
I'm guessing this is a good thing because I don't really need tall plants.
Another thing, the 3 plants in the smaller pots are having problems with leaves yellowing and spotting.
 
 
No nutes applied yet, FFOF soil. I do mist with tap water every other day or so.
There's also a strange yellow spot on one of the baby plants(top right).
Almost looks like a chemical burn.
I'm starting to notice that the smell is getting stronger. I may look into building a ghetto carbon air scrubber.
Any advice, answers, solutions are welcome.

Completely normal. I have grown maybe five different auto strains and all have flowered starting at 3-5 weeks.

2300k is a spectrum that could be used for flowering so yeah a light this spectrum would benefit these autos that are just now flowering. But, 2300k lights will make every other plant that is still vegging stretch ever so slightly, as well as the autos. Just adding a few CFL 2300k lights I'm sure won't make a huge difference in the stretch though, probably barely noticeable honestly.

The spots could be a result of so many things. To help you we'd need to know how often you've been watering, what pH the water and soil is, the ppm of the water and what makes up the ppm. Are you misting the top of the soil and only the top?

Using city tap water, pH between 6 and 7, not sure of the FFOF pH, ppm N/A, I'm only misting the leaves.

thorough H2O on 10, 13, 18, 21, 26 and just 1/2C. for the 3 yellowing on the 29th.

I also repotted the strongest A. Gold into a 6" dia. pot (bottom right)
The smaller Widow I put in a 3 Gal grow bag.
I cut a 3" hole in the bottom and eased the plant up through the hole,
Then added FFOF, closed the bag and flipped it over, put it in a 8x8" pot.
That way, I can add more soil to top of the bag later, which is now the bottom of the plant.
I may use this tek in the future, depending on how it works.
It should make adding more soil to the bottom of the plant much easier
and without repotting or causing much stress. There's 6 or 7" of room for expansion.

So those dates are when you misted the leaves and not when you watered the soil? I think those guys may be onto something with adding a little bit of nutrients. What kind of nutrients do you have and do you have a ppm meter to measure the amount of nutrients? What are you using to measure the pH of the water?

I'd say that using tap water and these base nutrients throughout the rest of your grow, you might not need to use any cal-mag, but here is some anyways.

Using tap water and nutrients that have micros in them, you may experience some lockout issues, but who knows, you may grow perfect plants if you keep the pH in range and strength of nutrients correct.
Your plants look really good though. Would you mind going a little more in depth about how you have a bucket that you can add more soil to the bottom of?

Cut desired size hole in the bottom of the bag.
This will be the new top of pot.
Open up the bag and roll up the open end to a workable depth.
Gently work the plants leaves up through the opening.
 
Carefully place cardboard on top of plant to keep soil in place.
Cover plant with empty pot to protect it.
Now flip it over, and remove the plants original pot
Now add 1 - 2 cups of soil.
Close bottom of bag, but don't fold it over,
and place another pot over the crimped bag.
Now flip both pots over, and remove pot protecting the plant.
Carefully remove cardboard, and gently push excess white bag down into the new pot.
 
When it's time to add more soil, I'm going to make a larger cardboard with a slit and hole,
put it at the base of the plant, cover with a large pot or bucket for protection,
flip it over, remove pot and add soil.
I've never tried this before, but I think it should work out OK.
I did add nutes, big bloom for the auto, GH's FloraNova Grow for the rest of them,
between 1 and 3 cups each, depending on their size.
I also tried the 100w HPS for the Auto, but temps reached over 95oF quickly.
I do have a small fan blowing up at the lights, and the top of the tent is open to vent heat.
I'll need to figure out adequate ventilation before I flower my photo plants in a few weeks.

But for an experiment its cool!
95 will kill your plants . You will defiantly want to get that cooled down. Before flowering those other ones.
You just need something to pull all the hot air at the top of your room. Then pull cool air from outside.
I have a C.A.P controller cooling/heating meter that when it gets higher than like 75 it will kick on and cool the room down with in 3 degrees.

Well I labeled, topped and rooted all 4 A. Gold so when the clones get bigger, I can put them under 12/12 and determine their sex.
These seeds came from a sack of weed that my brother gave me. All the other plants came from feminized seeds.
I also took 2 cuttings from the SAGE, 2 from the Dark Star, and 1 from the Iced Grapefruit.
(I only had 1 IGF seed, want to keep its genetics), so 9 babies, hopefully they'll all root.
Leaves were starting to droop, so all got a soaking, but no nutes today.

The space I'm using is an extra bedroom just used for storage these days.
The wife knows about my grow (obliviously), but doesn't go in there.
So yesterday she goes in looking for gloves or something. She comes out and says,
"You know, its fuckin' bright in there, and really warm. And it stinks, too.
How long do you plan on growing that shit?" (She doesn't smoke and is kind of 
She does however, eat my cannabutter when I make it. )
I didn't have the heart to tell her that I'll be growing that shit until the day I die.
I think she's just glad I'm not these days, and tolerates my new hobby.
She really hated it when I used to grow mushrooms in the living room.

Actually, I kinda just folded over that pot.
Here it is before I took the clothespins off.
I did open it back up yesterday to add more FFOF.
I'm still debating whether to top my 2nd widow.
All my other ones have been topped.
She's pretty compact and bushy...
If I keep her uncut, and continue vegging in that 3g. bag until Spring,
do you think she'll grow big and faster when I put it in the ground in May,
or will it stay small because that's what she's used to?

What strain of auto was that? I have 2 going that seem to be sativa dominant but I have no idea what strain they are. How was the potency and taste of the 5g you picked off?
Those other plants look great, they must be getting really stinky by now. I just installed a carbon filter in my space

I've been out of weed for a while, so this little auto was right on time.

that's good news about the auto but I really recommend you get a carbon filter. They are great and pretty cheap

First off, my cameras fucked.  
That little Auto probably went around 12 - 14g.
The main cola was 7g.(I smoked/ shared all the other buds before I thought to weigh it.)
Yesterday, I had to make room in the 12/12 space for another lady,
so I chopped the Ac. Gold after only 4 weeks flower.
She had stretched a bit much for my space anyway,
but still had some nice flowers.
She's got a great Sativa head high (and taste) like the bag it came from.
Can't wait to let the next one fully mature.
The Widow, DarkStar and SAGE are starting week 7,
Grapefruit week 6, another Ac.gold week 1.
I plan on chopping the widow at week 7,
DarkStar at 10, sage maybe 11...
They're all being flushed as of last week.
They drink about 10 cups each every 3 - 5 days, which kinda surprised me.
Thirsty lil' ladies. Buds getting pretty fat. They all have uniquely different scents, too.
My Veg space is full of clones of various size, plus one 12 week old Widow.
I need to work on my cloning tek a bit, (root hormone w/StarterPlugs)
I'm only getting about 50 - 66% survival rate, but that is plenty for now.
I just hate seeing the little babies die.
Still no need for air filtration, that room reeks of pot smoke anyway.
When it finally stops snowing every week, I might set up a small exhaust fan above the AC,
if the wife starts to bitch about the smell.
All in all, best hobby ever!

Been MIA and busy lately, emergency situation happened and
had to move my grow op (most of it)
I'm keeping my seedling/ clone space at home, but
anything taller than 6-8 inches got moved.
I set up in a bigger space, an empty lockable 5x7 room ...

...Nobody goes in there, ever.
So, I started this grow around 12/01/14, and am real happy with my success,
especially considering the noob factor.
Harvest dates:
1 Critical Auto 1/ 27
1 Ac.gold 3/ 1 ( was cut down early at 4wks.12/12
to make room in my grow space.)
1 Widow 3/ 9
1 Iced grapefruit 3/ 24
1 DarkStar 3/ 29
1 SAGE 4/ 5
New strains started this week:
1 C'99 http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/772152#772152
2 C+ and 2 Blueberry -  ...growery dude )
This was the sage, the last to flower (11 weeks)
Yield 28+g. Not bad for a little 22 inch plant.
   
And I finally got a good use for that 6 shooter I won... thanks Gorilla. 
All in all, I got well over 4 ounces for my troubles, plus now I have 8 strains currently growing.
I also don't buy weed anymore (only nutes), and
I've got some clones almost ready to share once they toughen up a bit.
Next harvest, 4/20(A.gold) then every 3 weeks or so another lady should be ready.

Widow was the first I harvested, so I kinda smoked on her before her 8 weeks was up.
(I was out of weed) then my other harvests happened, and I got distracted, especially with the grapefruit's flavor.

and she's developed a rather smooth taste with subtle hash flavors.
Funny thing about the Widow, I've been taking clones from all my plants,
maybe a 50% success rate, and the widow clones never survived.( I just realized this, never thought about it 'cause I have more seeds.)Probably has to do with my mad noob skilz,lol.
I will take some cuttings from the mother (she's been back in veg 5 weeks now)
see if I can have better results.

So some dumbass 
Somehow accidentally turned off my 12/12 timer
and let my lights run for 70 some hrs.
Friday, I set up for a long weekend with no gardening...
adjusted lights, gave 'em a good soaking,
heavy mist the ones vegging, see ya Monday.
Monday I check the garden and some of the 4 - 6 weeks along buds
had popped out 1-2 cm. long single leaves. I'm like
I check everything and the slide button got moved somehow.
(Note to self- glue button in 'timer on' position)
So yea, my plants missed 3 nights sleep,
(kinda like a good coke/meth run )
How many weeks additional flower time did this add to their 10 week finish time?
I'm guessing this will stunt growth, too. Curious if it affects thc levels and production.
