Chlorine is generally thought to be bad for plants but is elementally beneficial for unrooted/newly rooting cuttings.  look it up if youd care to...  just a thought... there are of course, many roads to success.. I just think its a neat tip.

Where's your source for that man?  I have never heard of that, and am not finding anything on it.

Independent but clearly compelling studies by knowledgeable growers on forums just like this one.
I heard of this years ago and it was a game changer for me in both speed and success rates.
I believe it was both grasscity and rollitup.org.

I've only heard this specifically applied to cannabis, but then again, this is a plant where cloning is more often employed, and being undreground, well, there won't be a harvard botanical study anytime soon...

So I can tell you firsthand its valid from experience, but try a google search or something like
"Chlorine beneficial cloning" or something or just run a trial with it and let me know if you agree

Again, links to said people doing the studies.

And cloning happens ALL the time in agriculture dude.

I hate it when people spew shit without having anything to back it up.

Here's a long thread with lots of testimonials of people using calcium hypochlorite (pool shock)
Whether the arguement be that its simply beneficial as an element or that it wards off bacteria as its key to success increases, which many people chime in about. There are many doing this.
The people having trouble who turned that around with this are what piqued my interest originally.
The reasons why are basic.

I'm not much of a convincer myself and I have no side by side comparisons of my own documented.

If you guys would prefer, I'll keep my personal success tips to myself, because honestly I don't care either way. However, what's the point of a science community if we cant calmly discuss ideas??

I am science and logic minded and tend to flock to what works with consistency for me personally. I am generally mildly skeptical about most things but when they work I employ them.

"Clear-rez" by EZ clone is basically calcium hypochlorite with a pre-mix price tag.

Good information.  The calcium is a nutrient too?

I'm not sure I'd be in love with all "tap water" as they imply in parts of the thread.  Tap water is all over the place in terms of chlorine, and nowadays may have chloramine, which is worse than the normal bleach they add.  The thread points out chloramine is hard to remove, so would need to be tested first to even see if it's there.

The normal chlorine the water companies add is sodium hypochlorite, Clorox basically.  So the idea of at least using spring or RO water and adding calcium hypochlorite in measured amounts makes a lot of sense.

H2O2 food grade! can also be used on a supplementary basis in small amounts after the initial CAOCl dosage.

My 2 pennies.

The reason I put it the way I did, is because if you come in making claims, but then don't back them up and just say look it up, that doesn't fly man.  If you want to say something works, it's on YOU to prove it.  Not just tell people that it works, and they should take your word for it.

I know when I dont let my water sit out over night to let some of the chlorine evaporate I usually start to see white marks on the leafs or on the tips. I noticed after my last two grows it happened only when I didnt let the water sit out over night. Plus I live in toledo, im sure you all heard about our water here.agahahahaha. Theyre adding all kinds of messed up stuff to our water now and its causong all kindss of problems for my babies. They said a week ago that a film will show up on our water, but that its still safe to drink because its just phosphate, which is running off of farms into our drinking water supply.smh. My plants were showing signs of nute burn during that period when I wasnt even using any nutes at all. Its been causing me nothin but headaches this entire grow. I was gonna switch to ro water but I heard ro water can cause its own problems. Should I just buy some jugs of distilled water for a few weeks til this shit blows over? I know it will be expensive but im cool with that

I'd go with RO water if your tap really is causing that many problems. Just be sure to add everything the plant needs.
