I have a 400cfm inline fan motor and am thinking of using a speed controller. The fan is priced right, and I think suited best for my application, but I might have to dial it down a notch. From what I've read the best way to control the speed of a brushed AC motor is a variable frequency drive controller. There are plenty of cheap alternatives but I don't want replace my inline fans sooner than later. Any input is much appreciated.
Ive been runnimg my 8 inch exhaust fan with a speed control for almost six months now with no pronlems. I adjust mine daily depending on room temp and outside air temp.
If I leave it on full power in winter months it wil draw too much air and actualy cools my room down and brings the temp of my entire house down! (Its a drafty house!)
welcome to the growery!
