 Man Eater, FFOF, 400w HPS, Seed to Mother to Flower

Strain: Man Eater
Grow Medium: Fox Farms' Ocean Forest
Light Source/Wattage: Veg'd for two weeks under138w 6500K CFL Finished veg and flowered under 400w HPS in a cooltube.
Veg/Flower cycles : 20/4 Veg 12/12 Flower
Temps: in the day stayed a constant 73F-78F at night they dropped as low as 55F
Nutrients used were Fox Farms' Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Beastie Bloomz, and Cha Ching. Blackstrap molasses was used during the last month of flower at 1 tbsp/gallon.
LST'd to an extent, these plants were too vigorous to be tied down like other strains, although it really did help a lot! Scrog will be used next time for sure!
The sole purpose of these plants was to take clones, find the female(s), designate mother, and then use appropriate clones later in a DWC SCrOG.
There are 3 plants, all Man Eater.
Plant 1 sprouted 9/14.
Plant 2 sprouted 9/15.
Plant 3 sprouted 9/16.
(I number the plants in the order they germ'd/sprouted.)
I realized I was infested with gnats the day the final plant sprouted, which affected them slightly, but now the problem is resolved.

Plant #3 turned out to be a male. Here are the clones in the cloner. (They all took root!)  From here, I'll be posting the flowering updates.  Day 6 FlowerPlant #1 (Green Bucket) Plant #2 (Red Bucket) Day 17 FlowerPlant #1    Plant #2      Day 23 Flower      Day 42 FlowerPlant #1    Plant #2        A few close-up trichome shots.        I'm going to try to get hold of a better camera for future updates, I REALLY want to get some nice, crisp, bud shots.  Day 69 Flower(Harvest in 2 - 5 days!)(Couldn't find a better camera  )          No Pics yet, but the dry weight is in! Harvested on Feb. 14.  Put in jars Feb. 20. Plant #1 = 75.7g dense tops Plant #2 = 50.9g dense tops Exactly 28g of popcorn buds jarred up, I've smoked about a quarter of the popcorn bud leading up to the weighing. Total weight of the dry, uncured bud is 154.6 grams (5.52 oz!)Even freshly cut, when most strains taste green, these were sweet enough to smoke and love it! After a week of drying, it's already better than any of the local "high grade" $20/g shit around, and that's before it's had even a day of curing! Roughly ~3 oz of trim, which is gonna has made some awesome oil.  BUD PICS!(There's more bud than what is pictured, I just picked the best looking tops from each.)Some of #2:      Some of #1:    Most of the tops had to be cut in half to fit in the half gallon jars, so they were actually even longer than pictured! I like the DIY cool tube. I think I might make something like that? Were did you get the tude? One that can take the heat?

Thanks man.
The tube was a Pyrex Bake-A-Round, so it can definitely handle the heat.
I forgot to get a pic of the thermometer, but the temperature at just level with the tops of the plants is staying 72F-74F, so it's working great!

Hell yea after seeing yours im ready to try and make one I have 400 hps
This is the hood I have now but Idont think I like how the bulb is hanging strait down. Dont think the plants are getting all the light they should?
What do you think and were do i get that grass tube at?

Yeah I don't think the bulb is supposed to be pointed straight down for the reason you said. (Not enough light reflecting in the right direction.)
If I were you, I'd get a basic wing reflector cheap, ($35 or under.) and then use the socket that comes with it and build the tube. Then get the reflector over the tube fairly close to it.
The tube came from eBay for around $15, you could probably find a cheap wing reflector w/socket there, too.

I can get a reflector for like 45 at the hydro store. Can you shoot me a link to the tube ? Notsure what to look for?
Easier you already know witch one is good.

I'd considered it, but didn't want to stress them out cutting branches off, and these weren't originally intended to be flowered, they were meant to be mothers. But after failing once to get clones to root, and then succeeding the 2nd time, I figured I'd flower these and keep the clones to be mothers.
So I wasn't actually 100% prepared to flower these when it happened, the REAL grow is up next after this; DWC SCrOG

Shouldn't be much longer now before the swell, and they're already exceeding anything I could've expected.
Overall, they're pretty damn happy, but where I let them get so rootbound there are a few signs of stress; not many though, hardy plants for sure!

Looks killer. You definitely got some leaning on the haze side of things. I've never seen it hold white hairs this long. This means you will have potency leaning on the haze side of things which means it's gonna be some potent shit.

I was surprised too when the hairs weren't changing, I didn't know what it meant, but I was surprised.
Great news though, I'm a sativa mothafucka, and I can't complain about a heavy-potency haze-leaning beauty of a bush!
The buds are REALLY trichome-covered, they just started showing amber about 4 days ago, and every time I even LIGHTLY (accidentally) brush my hand or finger across just the tips of the calyxes, they are sticky as fuck.
The smell has really been picking up, though the bigger plant (Plant #1) still smells nowhere near as strong as the smaller plant. (Plant #2) When I started using blackstrap molasses, the smells exploded! One day they're diesel-ey, the next they were skunky, the next they were sweet/fruity smelling, and then it ALL started mixing in. I can't wait to smell harvest, and then some of the cured finished bud.
The tip of the biggest bud of the biggest plant got slightly scorched by the light though, about an 1 1/2" long and about 1/8" wide strip of burned calyxes on one side of the top, I've run out of headroom for these monsters!

On the day of harvest, I threw 3 or 4 pinches of soaking wet leaves (probably about 3 or 4 grams bone dry) in a pint jar and did a few alcohol washes on them. Yielded .6 of some sweet amber oil. Just to get something smokable while I rested for the next day of trimming. (12 hours of trimming!)
Without a doubt, I plan on a ton of trichome shots, and I'm still trying to get a good camera to do these buds justice. (The plants got multicolored with a lot of purple/red, but the buds remain bright green and covered in red pistils after drying, clustered like you wouldn't believe, trichomes shiny and glistening everytime light hits them.)

I couldn't find a high quality camera, so I had to do my best with lighting and whatnot.
I'm still going to write up a detailed smoke report, I'm just still getting used to the bud, and I've gotta clean a bowl out for the report.
