I just read an article that Kratom is being temporarily placed as a Schedule 1 drug by the DEA. Are. You. F^*#^{{#* Kidding. Me?! What the ever loving hell is wrong with our government. By the way, this is supposed to take effect September 30. So take that info and do with it what you will.

So basically the dea will place it for up to 3 years after they 'research it'. And then 'decide' if it should be placed on non controlled or not. Idk bout you guys buy I'm buying a few more kilos before sept 30th.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here but I'm absolutely livid. I have a 5 year history of prescription drugs - completely legit prescribed medication, for anxiety and pain management, that is all ridiculously addictive. I have the opiate tolerance of a hippo. I weaned myself off of everything a few years ago because I was pregnant with my babies. The pain I can deal with - I prefer not to be on opiates, actually, but the anxiety is a real issue for me. I found something that works for me in Kratom. No prescription meds. It's a goddamn plant that has been used medicinally for over a thousand years. But no. Big pharma can't let that happen. Fucking seeing red over here. And yes I'll be stocking up. But that doesn't do anything for the bigger problem. Arrrggh!

Ugh another disappointment brought on by big brother. I'm sure kratom is still going to be around but for far higher prices and shadier practices.

I agree, I'm sure it'll still be available but more expensive and overall harder to find. So now I'm researching the best way to store Kratom to keep it fresh and not lose potency. Anyone have experience to share? I'm thinking vacuum seal and/or freeze?

Storing any sort of organic alkaloid containing matter benefits from being vacuum sealed. No air, no oxidation and little to no degradation.
Freezer would definitely help.. but thats a lot of freezer space. If it's properly air-tight then it should store ok.

Having no experience storing kratom for a long time I'm afraid I can't chime in.
What I have been doing though is capsuling all of my kratom up and keeping the capsules in medicine bottles stored away in my dark closet. Only time will tell.

How many capsules do you have to take to dose? at .5 g per capsule which I feel like could be a big cap, Id need to take a lot to dose properly.

Personally I take 6 to 8 grams. It's a lot of capsules. I'll probably graduate to "toss n wash" soon but the capsules make it a little easier for me.

Yeah I can't do caps. Eating 16-25 caps is too much. T&w is so much easier. One gulp and it's already over.

I use size 00 capsules which approximately hold 700 mg of material, my dose now a days is 3 - 5 grams. So that's about 6 pills for 3.5 grams, 8 pills for roughly 4.something.
It's not that big of a hassle if you pace yourself and take them 2 at time. I agree about TnW but I'm working at an office now and don't want people to see me dosing some random powder at lunch time  plus capsules have a slower onset so the burn lasts a little longer if that makes sense.

I can see how 00 capsules would work nicely for that situation, and at that dose 6-8 isn't a big deal I could probably take that in 2 swigs.
