outdoor log big mac, bubblelicious, papaya, aurora indica (partial harvest pics)
    #562658 - 06/07/11 09:41 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Just getting things moving here. Planted 8 ladies the other day. 5 more to go in the ground tomorrow.  As for genetics I've got chrystal, white widow, bigmac, blueberry, white berry, papaya, aurora indica, bubblelicious, super skunk and a haze/skunk cross.

The beans are all from nirvana. The haze/skunk was a freebie.... It certainly won't finish in time for my area, but it'll be fun to watch it's progress.

the first 8 were planted with ffof. The last 5 will be planted along a river bed. I'm hoping the soil will be rich enough with minerals.

I'll be feeding with fox farm nutes..grow big, bigbloom, tigerbloom. Picked up beastie bloomz, open sesame and cha ching the other day.

I only snapped a pic of the 5 i planted in the first plot. The other pic is of the white berry my buddy gave me.

Bottom left of photo is big mac..next to her is bubblelicious...superskunk in the top left.(she's kinda smashed up...I had to crawl 5 ft or so to pop up into that opening to plant the girls...snapped a few branches along the way. She's all taped up now though :smirk:)  bottom right is papaya...top right is aurora indica.

White berry- the only feminised lady of the group

Absolutely :gethigh:

I'm a little weary on when to feed'em. I could use advice from some growerites. At least in regards to the group of 5 girls in the above photo.  I plan on following the ff feeding chart and cut the dosage in half for the others, but since these 5 are already in ocean forest should I go quater strength or even less?

I'm gonna give them their first real feeding tomorrow.

Damn sorry for the long delay, I always start quarter strength UNLESS I know and have grown the exact same genetics with the same nutes etc and then I may go half or whatever depending.

I would recommend 1/4 but honestly if you went half, outdoors you should be fine I highly doubt it will cause any problems, so I guess really its what you feel. If they are starting to look hungry as shit then start half if they are still going good on what they have then maybe start quarter.

It's all good. I decided to just go with some super thrive. I'm gonna lett'em go another week before their first small dose of real nutes.

white berry on left..blue berry on the right. we had a bad wind storm and they got smashed all to shit. these two are in containers of ffof...with about 2 inches of drainage stone in the bottom. gonna tie these up in a few days...once they recover. They were completely bent over when i checked on them after the storm.

here's the other bunch of 5 i planted. they've progressed a bit since my last photo from 5 days ago. auora indica in top left  papaya in top right  skunk in bottom left bubblelicious in bottom right. the big mac is in the photo on the right. It too was completely smashed from the rugged storm we had recently. One of her largest shoots was ripped right off.

The photo on the left is of my super skunk. It's starting to flower and i don't really know why. they're getting enough sunlight and it hasn't even been that cloudy up until the past day or so. Kinda stumped on this one. I hope she reverts soon!

I topped 5 of them. the photo on the right is of the auora. I stuck the trimmings in ground for shits. I've seen'em root before this way...though i know it's unlikely to happen.

I've got one more blueberry to take a photo of that's in the ground all ready. I had planned on putting the last 5 i had in the ground the other day...but it didn't work out. Hopefully they'll go in the ground in a few days. weather permitting.

Fed the girls today!

1.5 tbs grow big
2 tbs big bloom
1/2 tsp bushmaster kangaroots

Hopefully they take the feeding well. It's barely 1/2 the dosage fox farm suggests. I didn't have time to tie them. So that'll happen next time.

So here's my nute line up. I'll be using everything here (hopefully won't have to use the revive). I've got some earthworm castings, sea weed extract, superthrive and sea bird guano that didn't make it into the shot.

Anybody heard of or used foxfarm's kangaroots?

I'm also thinking of picking foxfarms micro-brew (I think that's what it's called) to make it a complete line up...without the bushmaster of course.

I had no idea how much slugs are attracted to beer! There were literally 20+ slugs in the container when i returned a few days later.

Big mac. Half eaten to shit..but still doing ok  :smirk:

Slight nute burn on the aurora. Super Skunk curled a few leaves as well. Nothing to be worried about though.

These photos were taken just shy of a week ago. I tied them all down yesterday. They've actually grown quite a bit. I didn't mess with the papaya though. The nodes are so stacked on her. I've never really seen it. I can't even tie her. So I'll just be topping her periodically. I also picked up some FF "microbe-brew" the other day...so I've got the complete fox farm line up.:gethigh:

Gonna feed'em saturday!

Papaya. like i had stated...she's nice and compact! I didn't plan on tying her up, but when i checked today she looked ready.

aurora...photo on the left is 10 days old (i think)...photo on right taken today. it's amazing the growth you can see in such a short time span.

Big Mac. snails are really eating her up. Hope fully neem oil will help. gotta pick some up

Bubblelicious...sure hope she fills out more.

Super skunk...it's in a semi shaded area. She's really stretchin out. not much i can do.

White Berry...trimmed her up a bit today. She was really getting too tall.

Blueberry.

All of the girls were fed today....

1 tbs big bloom
1.5 tsp grow big
1/4 tsp microbrew

tbh i wish i could grow indoors. These snails are relentless! The beer I used took care of the slug issue, but the snails are everywhere.....eating the leaves up like crazy  :kingcrankey:

little photo update....

Aurora..leaves are starting to look like swiss cheese, but she's growing well.

I'm really liking the short stocky growth of the papaya. I may have to snip a cutting. She's be perfect for an indoor grow.

Big Mac...loooookin good!!!

Bubblelicious...starting to fill out.

Picked this up yesterday....gonna feed them with it tomorrow. Hopefully this keeps the bugs away. They're beginning to be a real problem.

In my experience a lot of the skunk strains grow like that, like as far as the spacing between branches..It does look kinda wimpy but I think it will do its thing over time. I guess we'll see, they all look pretty good though, healthy at least. As long as they are healthy they should produce no matter the minor flaws in leaves etc.

Man I ate too many weed crackers.

well that's good to know. It def didn't respond well to low stress training, but i'm sure it's the plant and it's environment and not the strain. I think the only ones I'll take cuttings from this fall are papaya and big mac. The papaya i think will do perfect for an indoor grow...it's so short and stocky, and the big mac I got as a cutting so i wanna keep her in case the smoke is really good.  I can't wait to get some gear and grow year round!

The super skunk looks just fine. as mhbound skunks tend to grow like that "skunk #1 excluded cause they are fucking christmas trees" but all the SS i have ever grown branch like that. she will fill out though you may want to bring in some stakes cause she will snap some branches due to the length and gap between bud sites.

They are a beauty indoors anyway and respond really well to HST and SCROG training in my experience.

Patience is a virtue rarely found in women and never found in men

my chef used to tell me that all the time when id get anxious making giant pots of demi glace.

but no im really stoked for this grow. SS is one of my favorites, no one appreciates skunks with all the cheese rage going around right now :frown:

papaya

bubblelicious

Super Skunk..coming out of her funk. Not gonna be a big producer.

Big Mac...getting big! Tied her down after I took this pic

Group photo. I'm very pleased their improvement. :grin:the aza max really helped tremendously. I also saw an huge boost in growth once they had their second feeding of open sesame.

On a side note i did plant my last group of girls about 2 weeks ago. I'm not gonna take care of them as well. Just gonna water them. photos to come of them. Just waiting for a good dry spell to go out and water and take pics.  :peace:

Girls are stretching BIG TIME. They've broke the 5 ft mark and are barely begining to flower. I'm debating what to do as far as training. They've grown so quickly that the canopy is now uneven. Not sure if I should tie them...leave them....or even top one last time.

Any one have some insight? I could use some right about now.

Snapped a 2 quick pics. It was gettin dark they aren't so great.

Bubblelicious

Super Skunk

YOu are outdoors, don't know how much an even canopy will help because you don't have any lights to burn your plants on, they are all getting the same amount of sunlight whether or not your canopy is even.  that has to do more with indoor and getting maximum penetration from something that is definitely not as strong as the sun.  If you enjoy the workout, have at it, bro!  Just saying, I'd just chill and enjoy them getting fat now, start planning some stakes and support ties rather than tie downs, you are gonna have some weight issues to deal with soon!  Also maybe opening up the plant to make sure it doesn't get too dense, need airflow thru there as much as possible as well as much sunlight to penetrate as possible.  Canopy even, not so much, open, yes, supported, most definitely!  And never top during flower, you will lose budding sites that way.  defoliate, maybe, never top.

5 weeks to go. 6-7 if I'm lucky and we don't have an early frost. Last fall we didn't have a hard frost until the 3rd week of oct. I hope it's just as late this yr.

My bubblelicious has bud rot. 3 or 4 days of steady rains caused it. I'm so pissed!!  I plucked all the buds that had it.  It's all over the plant....but had barely began to do serious damage.

thats really lame. in my experience the bud rot always starts from the inside and works its way out. there have been so many times i went to cut up a fat bud to dry it out just to find its core is stuffed with rot.

hope everything works out man. keep an eye on them and maybe tie them down to open them up and let some air in there?

I picked up some seranade and sprayed the affected areas. I checked on it a 4 or 5 days ago and it hadn't spread any further. gonna go feed them and spray them today. We had more rain the other day...so if it's gonna spread it would have by now. Things are lookin good though. Big mac is almost finished! Smoked some sample nugs the other day. It was really good. Still a lil early yet though.

I'll snap some pics tonite.

Here's a quick shot of my 3 favorite ladies.  I fed them their last dose of nutes and sprayed with seranade. Unfortunately the bud rot has spread to all 3 of them. Big mac only had it in one small spot. Superskunk is the same. The last application of seranade managed to surpress any further rot on the bubblelicious....which is quite a relief!

Their really starting to pack on the weight. I'm gonna give them 2 weeks at most. Gonna pick up a jewlers loupe and take a good look at them in a few days.

Lol...yeah. there was a very sudden drop in temps in my area. Temps are in the high 30's at night now. As soon as that happened they started packin on the weight. I'm tempted to let them go a little further into october.

They look so good irl. The buds are at eye level so I can just stand in the middle of it and :homerdrool:

Papaya and aurora are still lagging behind.

I also harvested my other lil plot today. Just finished trimming this afternoon. Pics to come :gethigh:

Here's a few shots of them hangin

Bubblelicous on the left and white rhino on the far right.

Over all I chopped 4. The rhino, bubble, chrystal and skunk/haze by skunkman
