HAHAHHAHA you guys should be thankful, over here its about £1.30 a litre which is over £5 a gallon,
which is about 8 dollars if my calculations are correct.
the cost of driving in UK is fucking riduculous, im taking lessons in the summer but im wandering whether its even worth it, when i could just buy a small motorcycle and save 90% on running costs and insurance.

no i dont have my license yet i was planning on getting it when i turned 18, but i didnt bother because insurance for a 18 year old new driver is at the very least £2000 a year. being at college for the last 2 years, theres no way i could of afforded it. although it would of been smart to at least of got my license, even if i didnt drive for a year

Are you in the market for a new road bike if I make you a good deal on the one I just finished restoring
Make me an offer... I am willing to negotiate since I know you had your bike stolen and I havent got TOOOO much money wrapped up in this bike. Does have a brand new seat, brand new tubes and tires, new cork hand wrap. Also have a light kit that I havent put on yet, but can do if you are interested in it. It's a 30$ light set that includes a rear light with 3 light modes and a front white-light for night riding

not a bad bike, but not something id go for. It's a fixie and those tires would stay white for about 2 hours
well you living on the other side of the country doesnt make selling it to you feasible (got no idea how ud ship a bike or how much it would be)
I have a number in my head.
You are welcome to make me an offer on it, the same way 81R is. He just lives close to me so getting the bike would be easy for him if he has the money to spend on a new bike. Growery discount of course.

oh yea. oil prices only raise because people want it to. You think any of those execs pulling in 8 digits are going to take a pay-cut? All the raising gas prices are doing is making them richer. There is NO reason they cant cut down their pay, but they won't.

And don't even get me started with OPEC. It's a trust, plain and simple; trusts are illegal in america. (remember the trust-busters of yore?

and such is an eternal truth. my girlfriends great granddad was a high up at BP shortly before the gulf spill. He openly insulted me for going into education because it isn't where the money is. This coming after this guy spends my GF's college fund he promised her all her life on his house or something.

He's right about the money being in oil, for sure. I dunno if I could do it though. That thing with the oil spill and fucking up the environment and killing a lot of animals and plant life would weigh on my conscience pretty heavily. Almost like you're selling your soul in that business imo. The way the world is though, we gotta have it, there's too much money in it now too. A friend of mine's brother works on rigs down in Louisiana and gets paid GREAT money. Fucked up he spent that money he promised her all her life on himself.
It's like some people value money way too much, but it's almost impossible not to, know what I mean? This world is a fucked up place man, shit makes me sad sometimes

But you want to hear the thing that has me support US oil rigs?
Those rigs only fucked up from neglect on not one, but two parties. The government and the companies involved. Since it has come to a fair bit of light, and while I can't quiet say I know things are better all over. I bet more places have been keeping a tighter ship. Beyond that, There is some area off the Atlantic coast with plenty of oil to drill for.
Also I hate foreign oil as much as T.Boone pickens.

Yeah, I think they knew shit was fucked up and were still getting oil. I mean, the boss on the rig has a guy on top of him pressuring him, and that guy has a guy on top of him doing the same thing, and so on and so on. And I doubt the guy at the highest level on the rig was gonna stop and tell his boss they had to stop drilling cuz something was fucked up and it could cost the company millions/billions of dollars and his job that he was getting paid very well at. When it comes to that level of money, the only thing that matters is getting that oil. Their reputation might be shitty for a while, and they might have to pay out some money, but what's 20 million or whatever they had to pay to them?? They're in like the hundreds of billions of dollars. And I'm sure they don't really care THAT much about reputation when no matter what people think of them, they're still getting paid out the ass. Yeah, I'm sure some places have been keeping a tighter ship. But, how long will that last? There's been oil spills in the past, and things will get better for a while, but then something else happens, and then something else. It's a never ending cycle imo. Those oil execs don't care about the environment or anything. I mean, I don't think they intentionally fuck it up obviously, but 20 billion, or a few dead birds, what are they gonna choose? They care about money. Sure they might fail a safety inspection or whatever, but they'll just pay the fine and keep doing what they were doing. They fail another safety inspection, same thing. I mean, I don't necessarily think these people are evil murderers and go out shooting animals n shit, but I do think that the money in that industry has gotten so high that it's almost like they've lost their since of self and are willing to do whatever it takes to make money. I'm sure some companies are better than others. Bottom line, imo, is that it's pretty much all about the money to them.
Wow, I typed a lot. Kinda started and just didn't stop.

goes based off weight, but ive seen people ship bikes before. it is a pretty light bike.
make me an offer, you wont insult me. If it is too low, then I will just tell you so

She's beautiful for sure. Carbon fiber or what? I'm restoring a nineties era roadie right now that has post shifters like that, they take a little getting used to when you've had a handlebar integrated system for a while. I'm filing an insurance claim for my bike under my renter's policy, so if they pay me, I'll definitely be in the market...if BeLIEve doesn't get there first.
